Haven't posted here in awhile, but wanted to talk about 0patch and my experiences since last we talked about it. I never did resolve my issues with Qsel.exe and so fixed that issue the old-fashioned way. I replaced Qsel with PStart, another loader program that works well enough.

As for 0patch.... it has been quietly running in my system tray where it tells me everything is OK.... have been monitoring sites talking about MS updates but haven't seen anything of note (yet). So I am inclined to just let 0patch work away.... it does not appear to have mucked up my Windows 7 Ultimate laptop and as I cannot update this laptop to Windows 10 (hardware issues), I will continue to use it until such time as I am forced to upgrade hardware and software.

FileCenter sounds complicated, lucky for me (I think) I don't have that problem. As for finding websites that deal with 0Patch and Windows 7 past EOL date, not much out there. This and Woody and he doesn't have much traffic or anything new to say.

I shall post here when 0Patch next updates my computer to tell what is going on.

I-ve been running 0patch for the past month and i paid for the pro. I now have the pro and free versions on my computer and IMHO I think 0patch is far far better than MS ever was. No reboots, no slowing my computer down when there are updates, and while they do have a free agent , i prefer to pay for the pro for a year. It keeps me comfortable going on the internet. No worries and no hassles.

I also was able to download the Manual for 0patch and it explains everything in detail how my system is kept a little safer, along with my security software and regular backups of files/folders etc.
I run W7 pro and will continue to do so until this PC gives up on me. Its only 3 years old, so i don't see that happening any time soon.

I am happy with 0patch and the people there are great. I do communicate with them when ever I run into a problem and they do ask us to do so , since we're the ones that are paying them to keep W7 alive and well...so to speak, I'm just happy there are people like this who actually give a dam that I prefer to remain with my windows 7 pro.

The 0patch Agent runs quietly, doesn't disturb me and I even forgot it was past its trial period , over the weekend. I contacted support and asked for pricing and about a few other things and they were very quick to respond. They are always quick to respond to any issues.



I've passed 0patch onto many friends still running W7 and they are also happy with 0patch Agent.

which the 0patch + Firefox conflict was fairly resolved quickly with a Firefox 73.0.1 update

OK I reinstalled 0patch and the FileCenter problem persists, though I've learned it is the tray service, and not the patch service itself, that is at issue. So I know how to avoid the problem (by killing that process). Not an ideal situation, but 0patch support is exemplary and I expect they will improve it soon enough, so I'm staying with leaving 0patch installed.

This thread deserves a bump, so I will report that the unique problem I had found using FileCenterDMS is no more, as I found a workaround unrelated to 0patch.

So I have 0patch (paid version) working, current stats: 388 installed patches, 25 patchable modules, 13 patches were applied 98193 times (!!! I think this means every time they're invoked i.e. "on-the-fly") and 693 applications were patched.
