Solved Intel Graphics Family/3000 (Video scheduler) error.

To set the compatibility mode, right click on the installation file and select Properties. In the Compatibility tab, set the mode. Apply. Also, check the box to "run this program as administrator." I would try try that first with the 9.17 before messing with the other driver.

I think you'll need to uninstall the 9.17 from Device Manager before trying the other file.

I have set the compatibility mode and installed Win7 version. Apparently it was set to automatically install WinXP version.

However, it still did not work as crashes continued.

I will remove 9.17 and try 8.15 when I get the chance.

edit:

I've uninstalled 9.17 (deleted drivers as well) & tried to install 8.15 (from Acer) in Win7 compatibility mode. The crashes still continued.

I'll try the version from another model which you mentioned.

edit:
I saw that 8.15................... while I was looking. I see it for another model at this site-

Download Acer Aspire 4739Z Intel Graphics Driver 8.15.10.2342 for Windows 7.

This version appears to be 32 bit as it only has x86 and not x64.

In addition, I believe there's a newer chipset of the one I have (9.2.0.1030). I believe mine is only 9.2.0.1015.

9.2.0.1021 seems to be here. I have not downloaded this yet, I will wait for your further confirmation.

As far as I can tell, the driver referenced in post 12 is the correct one for your system\Processor unless the vendor modified it. The latest .dmp files continue to indicate a watchdog.sys error which is symptomatic of a driver error.

I think you should reinstall it in Win 7 compatibility mode.

Then, download the diagnostic tool from here-

Download Intel(R) Processor Diagnostic Tool

and run it. You might run it from Safe Mode if you can't boot into Windows.

I'm unable to install in safe mode, would I be able to temporarily disable Intel Graphics (to login) and install identification utility?

edit: I've installed the utility and it cannot be run in safe mode. I'll continue to disable Intel Graphics running the utility.

edit2: I'm now in normal windows mode with Intel Graphics disabled & running the utility.

I'm not using laptop screen nor monitor, but TV with HDMI cable.

Do you mean the screen resolution? I've set it to the max output the laptop can handle (1300x768).

I've disabled Intel Graphics 3000, so Intel Manager shouldn't exist for now.

Note: I swear I remember posting a reply before heading to bed earlier around 1:40 am. Was it somehow deleted?

I noticed something strange when I started the laptop a little bit earlier. When I powered on the laptop, it was stuck at the big Acer screen with "Press F2" function at the bottom to change setup.

I had left both 32 gb & 4 gb usb drives plugged in on an 4-port usb hub.

The 32 gb has a small LED light that flashes when in use. It flashed a few times when the laptop powered on & then the screen was stuck.

I super powered off (hold power for 5 secs), removed the hub & powered back on. Everything was normal again.

edit: I also noticed one PUP has followed to my laptop that was also found on my desktop recently with a scan from AdwCleaner. I've removed it from both laptop & desktop.

edit2: I did a few tests with the USB's. Restarted & plugged in each one separately & let it boot into Windows after restarting. Repeated about 3 times with both & they seem to be loading into Windows normally. Perhaps it was just

The drives that are attached may be why you're getting a ready boost error in some of the .dmp files. I was going to pursue that with you but it's a different subject from this thread. Don't see how that would affect the graphics issue.

I didn't know your system is attached to a TV and, right now, it's not clear to me that would be an issue. Have to think about it.

Okay, we can set aside the ready boost error for now.

I don't believe there's an issue with system attached with TV though. I've used this setup for 5+ years and never had a problem on this laptop prior to factory reset.

The only reason I originally done the reset was to figure out the graphics issue.

hi

Please do the following,

download DDU,
Display Driver Uninstaller Download version 18.0.2.2

DO NOT RUN IT YET

Run MS diskcleaner, including system files

Pause Updates

Unplug all periferals, including TV and USB hub
(re-enable your laptop monitor)

REBOOT INTO SAFE MODE

RUN DDU

REBOOT

(check device manger is monitor showing?)

Install the latest Chipset driver
reboot
and then the HD3000 drivers from Acer
reboot

note the intel graphics manager should be set to 1366 x 768

now set up your tv

Regarding ReadyBoost its not a good idea to have it in a HUB, use a USB port

Mine is set to 1360 x 768.

I was originally using ReadyBoost on usb port, but I stopped using ReadyBoost and now using USB for storage. I do not know why it's still using it.

I have checked both laptop and desktop; ReadyBoost is set to Do not use this device.

Perhaps somewhere on the USB drive, the readyboost files are still there.

Hi

Yes the disk cleanup

when you open the Intel graphics manager the resolution dropdown should show it as an option.
according to the specs - 1366 is the default

Readyboost is device specific, plug usb in select >>properties remove readyboost

Did you find a HD 3000 driver at the Acer support website? I didn't look this morning but, from memory, there was no HD 3000 driver there. That's why I asked you to use the driver from Intel.

Yes, Intel driver is Intel Graphics 3000 v8.15 (which I have attempted to install before, but not after DDU)

The newest one which you suggested in post 12 is v9.17 (the current one I'm using).

I have not run DDU though, do I need to set device / device type on the right side?

Yeah, VGA Drivers seems to be the one for graphics drivers. Note that under VGA Driver, there's a separate vendor for each one. The 4th one is Intel v8.15 (which I've been mentioning). I believe to be named Intel Graphics Family, not 3000.

When I uninstalled Intel Graphics 3000 in device manager yesterday; Standard VGA Adapter was installed afterwards.

Perhaps the link is there. VGA is mentioned here and there. It could even stand for Video Graphic Adapter (I'm no tech specialist though :p)
