Solved Couldn't dowload MSE updates today

I usually download from here:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/wdsi/defenderupdates

But it was odd that the page showed the wrong date:


I also tried to download from here:
How to manually download the latest definition updates for Microsoft Security Essentials - Microsoft Support

but that gave a message "Page Not Found".

Perhaps MSE can't be used in 2024

I've had problems myself as MSE was trying to download updates. I wonder if MSE can still be updated in 2024. I remember having read that MSE support would in December 2023 but I would like a confirmation before I uninstall it and install AVG or anotherAV.

I've had no problem with it updating in my Windows 7 Professional 64-bit desktops.

I downloaded yesterday from that site. In fact, I did it on Linux, saved it to a thumb drive and ran that on Windows 7. That way I don't even have to be connected to the internet, and still can update MSE for the rare times I might need to be.

Yes it does, but you can also manually update it.
