Whenever I right-click on my desktop it takes a good 2-3 secs to appear! My laptop is not slow at all! This was not a prob when i had Vista x64 running. I don't really know what the problem is because everything else is running superfast except for the desktop right-clicking. Help pleaseee

1 more question... does Windows 7 take a lil longer to start up? i.e to get from the bios screen to the choose-account screen?

It shouldn't take longer. It should take less. Can you go into event viewerr by typing event viewer in search goto the windows log>application tab. Look for errors (red "X" in left column) that relate to your problem. There will be a bunch so you moght want to right click and then immediately go into event viewer to narrow the focus. If nothing in applications, check system

When you find them note the Event ID and source and tell us what they are

Hope this helps

You wouldn't be running Nvidia drivers by any chance would you?

Some of the Win 7 Nvidia drivers have been causing this right click slowdown. I think the problem is fixed with the newer Win 7 drivers.

Hey Ken! i did that and i found some of these errors

Event ID Source
11706 MsiInstaller
33 SidebySide
35 SidebySide
63 SidebySide
7 VzCdbSvc
10 WMI
11 CAPI2
1023 Perflib
1008 Perflib
1000 Application Error

chev65,

I do not have Nvidia graphics... but i think my problem might be related to my graphics card... because there is a change in my right click menu saying "graphics properties." When i click it, my graphics card set up opens up. I have attached pics if u wanna take a look.
