Not the best!
Thanks guys. Any other suggestions out there? I don't want to lose my task bar nor do I need anything as sophisticated as Nexus. Thanks.

Have settled for Rocketdock and am quite liking it. Shortsighted of Microsoft to remove this, I think. Thanks to you all.

Just remember that both Rocket dock, and Object dock are not advertised as working with Win 7. You may find some quirks with the software. Nexus however is constantly updated and is fully functional with Win 7 32/64.

Enjoy!

The Nexus dock is so nice that I had to rep Keizer for pointing it out. Now, I don't have to fret about StarDocks pending release. I am a bit miffed at them for failing to make the Start Menu dock applet work in x64 for the past several years.

If you think the Nexus dock is nice, you should try Winstep Extreme. They have a 30 day trial. It's a bit overwhelming at first because of the vast customization that it offers. However, after a few days, it all starts coming together, and you keep finding new things to tweak.

WinStep: Desktop Themes and Customizing Windows!

It's not free though. But, It includes a more feature rich version of the Nexus docking system that allows for multiple docks, tabbed docking etc. It also comes with Workshelf which is really unique. It organizes everything into customizable shelf's that can auto hide and are launched right from your desk top. No more clicking through multiple menus to find what you need.

I was so impressed with the the Workshelf system, that I didn't even set up any Nexus docks.

Oh, and Winstep Extreme also come with Nextstart which is a skinable advanced menu management system.

Winstep has their own support forum where the developer is extremely active and promptly answers all questions.

http://forums.winstep.net/phpBB2/index.php

Winstep Extreme has been around for a long time and is continuously being developed. I am in no way connected to the developer of Winstep Extreme. I am just a happy registered user of the software.

My desktop, cluttered. The Antman is a minimalist.

.

I too am a minimalist. Hard to believe I can get to anything I need right from the desktop.

Keizer mind linking to your gadgets? I wouldn't mind using some of those. By the way ObjectDock works fine on Windows 7.

Wonderful software to restore folder docking

Hi,

first of all... sorry for my bad english

I've foudn this freeware and open source software:

https://sourceforge.net/p/sevendeskbar/home/

It's able to restore old capability to dock a folder on an edge of the
windows desktop and require non installation!

Is an alpha release but work's great!

Best regards
