Samsung Monitor Driver

I've had an ongoing problem with this for some time now. You can see here that my Device Manager tells me that I'm missing a video controller, and also in that post is my inability to watch full screen videos online. Here, I talk about the problems I've had with my display driver crashing.

Now, yesterday I downloaded Photoshop, and as it opened, a window popped up saying that my "monitor Profile" is defective and needs to be calibrated (See first attachment). If I choose to Ignore Profile, I can use Photoshop as usual, but everything I export has an irremovable yellow tinge. If I choose to Use Anyway, there is no white in Photoshop's color pallet, only the same yellowish color.

This got me thinking for the first time that my monitor was the cause of my problems, so I searched online for Samsung 2243swx drivers. On their webpage, they had up for download only one driver, which is for a VGA graphics card (See second attachment). I've been running a PCI graphics card (NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS), and I was wondering if this could be the problem.

Would you say I ought to buy a VGA graphics card?

No VGA card a PCI or PCI -E ATI or Nvidia.

Actually I';d choose Nvidia

Well you need to install a monitor driver if available, so your monitor will be recognized and be able to have it's native resolution used. Otherwise it will just be reported as standard VGA. I would install the driver in compatibility mode. Download the driver>click properties>check box Vista and install. After it is installed your monitor should show up as the monitor you've listed above. Then just install the correct driver for your video card. Yes, but the webpage for the monitor driver says it only works for VGA graphics cards. I have a PCI. I don't quite get what you're saying.

You have a PCI card with a VGA output. Some PCI cards even have a digital output. Definition of VGA define:Vga - Google Search VGA has become know as a standrad analog output. It doesn't say VGA Grahics card it says VGA Grahpic. Install the driver for your LCD you'll be OK. Fabe

I just downloaded the driver and it made no difference. I still can't watch fullscreen videos and Photoshop still won't work.

Also, a few minutes after downloading, my computer froze up and automatically restarted.

Go to device manager>right click on the dispay controller>properties>details tab>drop down menu> hardware id. copy and paste the code. Someone can find the driver you need for that device. Thanks Fabe

Did you uninstall the drivers first from Device Manager?

Doesn't Windows7 pick up a WDDM model for you on restart?

Hi. The video controller has nothing to do with the video display or your graphics card operating.

Install the latest driver from NVIDIA's site and you'll be set.

Yes,. uninstall the drivers firs. Look in Programs abd Features

Or in Device NMabager.

All video cards are vga cards regardless of output. Install the driver too for the monitor.

No need to uninstall drivers. Just install on top. Uninstall offers no benefit unless someone can't get a driver to install to begin with for whatever weird reason.

Okay, so during the install, it said that NVIDIA's control panel couldn't be installed (see attachment 1), and then it restarted and defaulted to the crappy Intel card built into the motherboard (see attachment 2). Then it restarted again, this time using the proper NVIDIA card. Photoshop works fine now, but I still have trouble watching fullscreen videos, and it still says I'm missing a Video Controller. What can I do about that?

Go to your motherboard manufacturers site and download the latest chipset drivers. Also make sure your onbaord video is disabled in your bios.

Go to your motherboard manufacturers site and download the latest chipset drivers. Also make sure your onbaord video is disabled in your bios.

How do I determine my Motherboard's manufacturer?

You might be able to disable onboard vga in the bios.

I've installed the codec pack,and I see no difference. What does it do?
Also, you said that the video controller doesn't affect video display. Does that mean the lack of a video controller is something I can safely put from my mind, or is it important that I get one?
