Make media centre start at the TV menu strip regardless of what was last used ?

And..

When you launch the tv guide, can it be forced to start at channel 1 i.e the first channel in the listing ?

If any one knows if and how this can be done I would be most chuffed :D

I know it's not the end of the world, but for me the main and most common thing I use MC for is TV, and I always want to look through the channels from the top down !

Cheers

8 meg, no 24meg for my area for a while.
Thanks Swanson,

I read that post on my digital life a while ago, but it does not do what I want exactly.

As I don't want to jump to live TV or the guide specifically, but just to the general TV strip.

To elaborate : if I watch a DVD from the HDD and I start it by going to My Movies strip , watch said film and then close down Media Centre for the night.
The next day when I start up my HTPC and fire up media centre it will go to the my movies strip.
I want it to always go to the TV strip by default regardless of where I exited from.

Hopefully that explains better what I am after.

Cheers

I think you'll perhaps find the answer lies here... :p

The shorcut will take you to where you want it take you depending which switch is used, you just 'launch' it instead the standard shorcut. Do you know how command line options work with shortcuts? Did you try it?

@Swanson
Yes thanks, I know how to use command switches !, and yes I have read all the articles relating to 7MC including the mydigital life one you quoted,and have also found quite a few more that are not listed on MDL and unless I have missed something all of the available switches are already listed and none of them do what I am asking for.

I'm not sure I can explain what I am after any better than in my previous post.

@Qdos
Thanks chap, but that is just a GUI with the same options as the command switches.

Ok maybe what I want is not possible , but I find it hard to believe that the default behaviour can not be altered and even harder to believe that no one else thinks that the default setting of MC opening at what ever menu strip you were last at, is a bit naff :confused:

I will dig deeper it think.
