Here's a sneak peak of the new Chocolate Theme.

That looks a bit sexy!!

When can we expect it to be released?

The Vanilla 2.0 will be released in December, I'm not sure if Chocolate is going to be in the next release or not. But I really hope it will be. Both of them are very nice and Sexy

I have been testing them through the SVN and there both something you guys should start looking forward to!!

Indeed they are, i do hope they roll it out before the festivities begin. I'd love to show off my MC with that chocolate theme enabled. My current setup is becoming a bit 'old hat'

There is a new member at the MediaBrowser Forum that is creating new Icons to be used as initial folder start icons, and they look grate in use!

Here is another of my animated pix. (not animated in Internet Explorer or Google Chrome) Using one of these web-browsers... Firefox, Safari, Opera, or Wyzo... and the image will animate.

SkarkCovers Folder Monitor

This is a pretty easy one to set up.

Step 1-A: open the Stark folder and find the StarkCovers.bat

Then open it for editing.

Step 2-A: open the GUI and enter all of your info as if you were about to run it... but don't press run.

Step 3-A: Now that all of your info is in the GUI, everything you need for the batch is in the lower command window.

Step 4-A: Now that you have copied the info in the lower window, you will need to paste it into the StarkCovers.bat window that we first opened.

If you have your media in more that one location, as I do. Just repeat Steps 2, 3, & 4 until you have all of your locations in the batch file.
Once your done, Save the Batch file and close the editor.

Now that the Batch is all set we need to set up Windows Task Scheduler.

Step 1-B: Open the Administrative Tools > Task Scheduler

or you can just type "Task Scheduler" in the Start Window search box and windows will find it for you.

Step 2-B:

Step 3-B: Add in your info.

Step 4-B:

Step 5-B: Set your start time etc.

Step 6-B:

Step 7-B: Browse to the batch file and save

Step 8-B: Final Step... and this is a hard one. Double check all your info is correct and SAVE!

That's about it. From now on stark will auto run and keep all of your files up to date.

Also FYI. There's a New StarkCovers out, that has new overlays and new music related functions.

Add new plugins

To add new plugin download location you must first go to the configurator -> plugins -> Add -> File -> Sources -> Add and enter this url ->

To use any of these plugins just right click any Host link below and Copy as link, then paste it into the url window and save. Then restart the config tool and go back to add plugin, the new plugin will be in the list available for download.
Note: Some plugins have there own config options that you must configure before they will work.

Games Browser\Launcher Plugin mockup

Here is my Mock up, done in my usual animated fashion.

Sup Demon, man it's been a while. I tried to rep you for your consistency with the MB project, but as always, you all repped out lol. Any way major props to you.

Why are some images ignored by stark? I noticed when I used certain profiles, the number count for the amount of movies I had in the folders differed.

Whats up Zay! Can you show me the image its skipping? I have never seen it skip anything.

I think I figured out why some folders were missed. I compared the ones changed to the ones not changed, there are folder.jpg in the ones changed, and no folder.jpg in the ones not changed. Now I could be wrong, I thought that MB puts a folder.jpg in all the movie folders it finds, then again on second thought, MB might be pulling the pictures from the cache folder. If I manually put a folder.jpg in the folders missed by stark, then that should solve the issue. But, the ones that do have folder.jpg files in them, didn't they get put in there by MB? The attachment shows some of what was missed. One other thing Demon, I had to redo my HTPC (installed a full version of W7), and I forgot to save my IBN folder. Your link to it does not work, can you hook me up? Have you tried the sleep timer plugin?

Yeah you must have the folder.jpg in your folders for Stark to work. If you let Media Browser fetch your Metadata you will not be able to use Stark. MB put everything it fetches in it's Cache. The only way is to use a metadata scraper like meta<browser/>, that will download you metadata to your movie folders. And then MB will use that info in place of its own.

Oh ok, I will run metabrowser. I see they revamped the whole IBN project, it seems I need to download seperate folders now, year, people, genre etc. Is that the case? Here is the link to the sleep timer. Windows 7 Media Center Sleep Timer Plugin I have not been to get the custom timer to work yet. I will work on that today. Thanks again. PS. I just caught your tutorial on changing the MCE logo, nice. I posted my new one. BTW, I downloaded the lastest MB, and noticed it only has two themes, default and diamond, when in default theme, my play trailer icon does not show. it shows in diamond theme. Have you or anyone else noticed that?

Default theme does not support trailers. The Vanilla theme has moved to a plugin so that the author can keep it updated with out needing to what untill and new release of MB. Most new themes will now be a plugin.

Ah master Demon great skill and knowledge of MB have you. The force has guided you well thru your MB jedi years. I will seek the available plugins as you have advised. Download plugins now I must. (speaking as an earthlin now) Oh yeah, I got all my folders to convert to stark now, thanks for the tip. I also got the IBN downloaded and showing in MB. Did you want the stuff I mentioned in the PM?

Media browser + Meta browser are a must have for media Center IMO.

My only complaint about media browser itself, Is the way it fetches metadata. id rather have more control of what is added.

So my personal pref. is disable media browsers fetching ability and do it manually with Metabrowser.
Manage the all backgrounds/coverart/ ImagesByNAme etc through it.

Whatever your preference, Media Browser is a great plug-in IMO.

Yeah that was many hours building the folders and icons and backdrops and metadata. The video was the easy part! I used Camtasia, and it was very easy!

I use camtasia lot myself, but mostly to create tutorials. I am running the lastest version right now. I will join the forum.
