Do you have onboard or discreet graphics?

I have no idea what that means. How do I find out?

Brennie

STOP. it is a video driver problem. since you do not have the driver installed win 7 installs a generic VGA driver. it supports up to 800x600. We need you to type device manager in search. go to the diplay tab>right click>properites>use the pull down till you see hardware ids. copy them and post them we will find you a driver

Your welcome. Your best bet is with 32 bit version of 7 as your 512mb short of the minimum system requirements for seven. Fabe

We just upgraded our system to 2.00GB memory.:D

Let me ask you, where did you buy your computer? What computer is it? If I know exactly what machine you have, maybe I can find all the specs of it online.

I posted all my specs in my profile puter specs area. I had it custom built in 2003 at a local computer store. It's an Intel Pentuim 4 / Celeron, 478-pin processor w/400/533 MHz FSB, Shuttle. What else do you need to know that you can't find in my specs?

I need to find your video card. If you did not buy a video card separately, it is probably onboard. I will google for your motherboard and see what I can find.

I've already done all that. There are no updates available - it runs it's checking process & says you currently have the latest driver or something like that.

Here's the scoop. Your motherboard is quite old. I suspect it is so old, there are few Windows 7 drivers for it. You are stuck with the generic drivers because there aren't any compatible ones.

Before we give up on it, try this link: http://www.sis.com/download/download_step2.php?id=155951&country=USA&Image791.x=68&Image791.y=11

No guarantees it will work, but it is worth a shot. The link is chipset drivers for a motherboard slightly newer than your. It may or may not work.

I am not sure. I do not know what is in the package. Try the desktop, and if it does not work, try extracting them in C:\Windows\System32\drivers.

Yeah, sorry, I bet you your hardware is too old to run Windows 7 nicely.
