No sound from my laptop

Hi..Im new here and I hope that Im not doing anything wrong BUT I did a clean instal of windows seven a couple of hours ago and everything is working fine except the sound. What could be the problem.
I have the HpDv6..if that helps.

You are missing your sound card drivers. Head to the HP Support website at 24/7 Online support for HP's Home and Home Office Products - HP Customer Care (United States - English) and download your drivers for Windows 7 (x64) for your HP dv6. Can you give a more specific model of your dv6 so I can possibly help you more?

Your model # must be DV6000 since they don't list a dv6. No its the dv6...i found the driver and it works now.

There are WAY too many dv6 model laptops for the website to just list them all. You need to know specifics. It seems he found his drivers by giving the site his specific model "dv6-xxxx" and picked up the drivers.
