Hey, I'm new to windows 7 after getting a new laptop for christmas. So far I'm loving it apart from one thing, whenever I try to watch a video (Youtube, etc ;)) IE goes unresponsive making me need to close it down via task manager, does anybody know why this could be happening?

Cheers

Hey, welcome to the forums.

Flash player is probably your issue, although with IE it could be other things.

You could always uninstall Flash and install the latest version.

I would disable add-ons and test until you find the problem. It's been so long since I worked with IE I can't remember much more.

If the problem persists, you might consider trying Google Chrome or Firefox. They will make you much happier once you get used to the new interface. Chrome is very easy to install and you will have to install Flash for Chrome, but I have switched many people to it and ALL of them are grateful.

I have the same issue. Just started two days ago.
I downloaded a new Flash and it didn't fix the problem :(
I'm starting to think about going back to Vista for a while...there are too many little issues.

Hahaha don't mean to laugh, but Vista? I think this has been settled a long time ago.

Windows 7 is not your problem friend. Internet Explorer is one of the most troublesome browsers in existence. That's most likely your problem.

I would download and import your bookmarks to Google chrome. Create a new folder on the left side where you are used to having them. Try it for a couple of days. You will need the flash player for Chrome...when you hit a flash page you can get it quick, you will never want to use IE again.

Whatever you decide, it can't hurt to try it.
