Windows 7's GodMode

Hi.

On my French news site, they discovered this : Windows 7 GodMode. Don't worry, it's nothing security related. In fact, it brings nothing new. So, to access it...

1. Create a folder (anywhere) with this name, without the quotes :
"GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}"
2. A Configuration Panel should appear instead of a folder icon. Double-click

It should give you a list of EVERY options, clearly, in the Configuration Panel and amkes you feel like a geek.

If you find the name "GodMode" a bit stupid (personally I love it), you can call the folder what ever you like, it's the code between the parenthesis that counts.

That trick has been around for awhile.I have it and it is called All Tasks.
Handy to have pinned to task bar.

And another way to see all Control Panel Items (like GodMod folder) is: Open Control Panel and then type "a" into the Search box, all items will be listed.

Thanks Airbot. The name God Mode is a bit overblown... its just a bunch of links to other folders, and it grants us no extra powers. I thought it might be a "super admin" of some kind.

it sure makes it super easy to paste shortcuts to the desktop from any of the actions listed in the godmode folder though!

It has been known to crash with 64 bit version of Vista. However it works with 32 bit.

Now if this were really a Godmode, we wouldn't have to wait for Windows 8

A slight reg hack and 2 key strokes, And boom you control BSOD

Why you would want to do that, besides it being a "Boss Key", its pointless unless you want to mess with your local IT person
