I'm told by one person that UAC prompt is normal security measure for any software interacting with microsoft its all about UAC settings, and another person says I shouldnt need to have UAC appear when I open the avant browser. can someone here tell me if avant is incompatible with windows 7 because when I go to right click the avant browser icon and click troubleshoot compatibilty the end result is that it says - incompatible application - even though the avant software did download and i can use it normally after clicking yes on the UAC prompt and the browser works fine. I know I'm not missing SP2 but it said somewhere else avant was designed originally in XP SP2. that shouldnt be a problem should it?

avant's website say's it "should be" compatible with windows 7. you may want to switch to another browser until they have any kinks left over worked out.

I uninstalled avant browser and installed orca browser...no more UAC prompt - they are much the same in appearance and function with some slight differences. I guess orca works with windows 7 and avant does not...entirely.

If a browser is asking for elevated permissions then yes I would say it's incompatible and needs a rewrite ;)
