I had a similar problem. All IP settings were normal and suddenly the Network just changed to Unidentified and there was no way to make it work again. I had a static IP, so the DHCP was not the problem.
IT TURNED OUT that the problem was the drivers of the LAN-card integrated to the motherboard. I had this driver:
Realtek RTL8168/8111 Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.0)
I changed to this driver:
Realtek RTL8168C(P)/8111C(P) Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.20)
And works perfectly. Just thought I should share this info! I saw someone suggesting some MAC-address changes too, didn't try that one.
