I've come back to IE after problems in Firefox I couldn't get resolved. But there's one issue I have with IE that I can't seem to resolve. Unless I right click on a link and tell it to open in a new tab, it opens in the current tab. I've been through the internet options dialog several times and can't find any way to change this behavior. At least none that I recognize.

How do I get IE to open a bookmark link in a new tab, and also when I do a search, get that to open in a new tab as well?

The only way is through the mouse? You can do the same thing by right clicking and selecting "open link in a new tab". It's hard to believe that there's no option or add-on that helps to control tab behavior the way you want it to work. But if that's the way it was designed, that's the way it was designed. That's one of the reasons I have used Firefox. Firefox allows you to customize the browser the way you want it through extensions.

I guess I'll just have to remember to keep right clicking until MS decides to give the user the capability to customize tab behavior.

I didn't know about that one either. But I still would like to see a way to customize tab behavior. I guess I'm just stubborn, at least that what my wife tells me.

There is an option in the tab handling preferences to always open links in a new tab. It's the first thing I set on a new install. It SHOULD be the default (IMHO) but having it off mimics old IE behavior for peopl ethat can't stand change I guess :)

I have that option checked but it still opens a link in the current tab. But maybe if I held my tongue just right.......:D
