You gamers have no clue. I can't even show you my whole rig because it takes up my entire house (it is my entire house).

Power button - impossible to turn on by yourself.

b7tf4b3gem96ykb8y.jpg

House/computer is under the third stack from the left. CPU heats up to about 790 degrees Kelvin in the winter, had to reroute the river to go through the cooling stacks. Summer temp can reach 1,000 K easy, have to use glacial melt AND the river or else I am totally screwed.

^^That sucks mate. It's a crap feeling :(

---------

I decided I didn't like the green side fans, so I finally found some red ones that were in stock.

Instead of the HAFMAS TREE, I now have the RED MENACE ;)

I'll be keeping it away from the electrical stuff, water or not ;) I did a test run on an old video card, put it back in and lets just say the electrical fizzing sound was not inspiring :) Card still works though. I picked up the compressor pretty cheaply from Bunnings.

It does look microscopic! lol

Imagine a micro-atx in there :p

What case is that smarteyeball?

@ the guys with EVGA FTW boards:

You probably have heard this, but do yourselves a favor and replace the NB fan! :p I just did mine with a Vantec Stealth 60mm and all I can say is WOW. My PC now doesn't "whine" anymore; now it sounds more like an air conditioner.

Even at max rpm the Vantec is still easier on the ears than stock fan at 30%. Biggest difference is when booting. My rig would sound like a vacuum cleaner because the NB fan jumps to its max rpm >.<

Not only that, the Vantec seems to have better airflow for the same rpm. I had to run the stock fan at 30% of 5500rpm (which is about 1600rpm) to reduce noise. NB sink temp = about 45C. Then I ran the Vantec at 60% of 2700rpm (~1600rpm too). NB sink temp now = about 37C.

I feel pretty proud of myself now. I've been sleeping every night for a year, 3 meters away from that little hurricane and 9 other fans in the case.

Harmann, it's a good tip but how would one go about fashioning a fan into where the stock one just clips in? Also with the stock CPU fan that north bridge fan is in a tight spot I couldn't imagine a larger fan in there. Pics?

Sorry for late reply. Here ya go.

The fan is 25mm thick so make sure you measure first or find thinner fans with around 3000rpm max. Barely fit under my OCZ Vendetta.

I made it blow up into the CPU heatsink instead of the GPU like the stock fan. That shaved off about 3C on the GPU. There's no noticeable effect on CPU temp as far as I can tell.

I cut some double-sided foam tape into 4 triangles and put them in the corners where the screws normally go, as you can see in the pic.
