Hove checked your Power Options via the Control Panel?

Hi,

I can't see the web page that you post:o

Yes, i check the Power Options in Control Panel. I don't have any plan to put the pc to sleep when some time is gone but i know that the problem is not in the power options, i think.

I use a command in cmd that shows the information about last wake up and every time tell me that was started the system again was the USB Root/USB Hub (one of both)... Buy i don't know what i need to do...

Thanks.

It may be that one or more of your USB devices is causing the computer to wake up. Also, do you hve any programs running that update, like a weather gadget, a clock gadget, or a mail program?

There are lots of reasons a computer will go to sleep and then wake itself right back up...

Others have already mentioned the gadgets thing... any gadget that accesses the internet will trigger the "network active" timer, preventing standby.

In my other thread I discovered a disk timestamping routine that was keeping my systems awake for weeks at a time... The solution was to edit the registry at:

HKEY_LOCAL MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\reliability
setting TimeStampInterval to 0.

Another cause is if you have the "Computer Browser" service running on a Workgroup with multiple computers... If your system is the "Master Browser" (and there's no visual indication it is or isn't) the other computers will wake it up to check for new shares on the network.

Still another cause could be your BIOS settings... In my bios there is a setting for "Wake on PCI-E device"... which is my video card. What happens is that you put your system into standby, this stops the monitor signals, the monitor goes into standby and signals the video card... which then wakes your computer back up.

Also, as mentioned, if you are using USB devices such as wireless or a docking port, they might be sending timing pulses that will keep the system awake. Many motherboards will let you set jumpers to deprive these devices of power when the system goes into standby... so you may want to check that.

Some software will even prevent standby if it's doing something... For example Media Player Classic will not allow standby if it's playing.

This is not always an easy thing to troubleshoot... I wish you good luck with it.
