Ok,

So I was planning on doing a factory restore because my computer was filled with a bunch of things I really don't need and want to start fresh.

Anyways I have an HP laptop and it has a separate partition so if I decide to do a factory restore it should go to normal. Now the problem is that my computer had vista first and I've now upgraded to 7. If I decide to do that will it ruin my computer or will it just go back to vista.

If it just goes back to vista, can I decide to just reinstall the 7 upgrade using my windows 7 licence key? Thanks :D!

Welcome

If you upgraded to Windows 7, many times that restore patition is rendered worthless. Just so you know before you take any action.

Thanks! I've been trying to figure that out from the people at HP but nothing! What are some ways to get my computer to have 7 installed and have everything cleared?

If you have a upgrade version. You can do a clean install. When you get to the window that asks what kind of intsall, clean or upgrade. You choose advanced. You will then get the choice to format, make drives etc. You format the whole thing and choose how many drives.

I see as I was typing Theog was kind enough to supply a link.

No I haven't found the time to make recovery dvd's and have always used the recovery manager built into my computer from HP to give me a clean install, but that was before I had 7 installed.

Ray, That is what makes us so much better than the, 1 man 1 opinion, pay repair services. We all do our best and the OP choses what is best for him or her.
