Multiple Wireless Networks

Hi

I have a few wireless networks that run separately on my house. The have different network ranges and different internet connections (gateways).

On one of my machines I has one wireless card connecting to the one of the wireless networks. If I add another wireless card how do I connect it to a different network? I will configure the IPs manually and just give the one a default gateway, just wondering if I can connect them to different wireless networks?

Also will it be possible to use this machine to connect the two networks together? I have tried this before with the routers but then one of them can only work as a access point and cannot use PPPOE to create a connection. I will make their network ranges the same if I can connect them?

Hi, you can definitely have each card connected to a different network without a problem, my old laptop has 2 wireless cars and I connected them to 2 different wireless networks at once with out a problem.

However I am not sure this would work for linking the 2 networks so you could share between them (unless of course you re-shared the shared folders of the other PCs on your PC with 2 wireless cards, but I'm not sure that possible or practical).

wouldnt bridging the connections do this?

just connect to each network on the same pc, using different cards, then highlight all of them, and right click, click bridge connection, windows *should* handle it for you,

you may have to change the subnet to handle it... unless all networks have different Ip ranges

of course another option (dont know how practical this is) is to link all the gateways together using LAN cables, with DCHP enabled, although you may need a "intermediary" router which acts as a bridge, so i think the windows option would be easier
