Hi, what is causing this BSOD ?

Whenever I try to put my laptop into sleep mode, it always just hangs and then about 10 mins later it will automatically restart and I'll get a message saying :

"Windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown

I'm including the .dmp file in hope that someone can find the culprit ! I'm certain it's a driver issue I just don't know which one.

I'm running Win 7 Home Premium 32

The Windows Debugging Tools aren't able to access symbols for your operating system files (in particular NTOSKRNL.EXE / NTKRNLMP.EXE / NTKRNLPA.EXE / NTKRPAMP.EXE) from the Microsoft Symbol Server - so that makes debugging them difficult if not impossible.

Please do the following:
- activate/validate the Windows installation at Genuine Microsoft Software
- run sfc.exe /scannow to replace any problem files
- open a support incident with Microsoft to see if they can fix the missing symbols issue ( Windows 7 Solution Center )
- If that doesn't fix it, then wipe the hard drive and reinstall Windows
- don't use "leaked"/torrent builds

Sleep is a power management option which is controlled by the bios. Therefore make sure that you have the most current bios installed.

I have found a site from e-machines which you can use to update your drivers and bios: eMachines Support: Drivers and Downloads.

The symbols for your windows build 16481 have not been compiled by Microsoft on the symbol server.

no I don't have vista I am in fact running a genuine copy of Win 7 that I bought. I did have vista but not long ago I formatted and installed 7.

I am not using a torrent version of the os and I'll be activating windows right now.

ok so I activated my Windows 7 Home Premium, I ran that sfc.exe /scannow and after the process it told me that : "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations".

Now I will open a support incident to see if MS can hopefully fix the problem.

Finally regarding reformatting, yesterday I just formatted and installed a fresh copy of Win 7. So I don't particularly feel like reformatting again.
