aliens vs predator 3 2010 directX 11 fix!!!

Hey everyone! Wanted to post this in a forum I love and hopefully it spreads!

What I was receiving:

Would crash to desktop after the video in DirectX 11 mode.
No sound in any mode.
Updated dx with the update redist on ms.

Tried all possible fixes online, sound quality changes and all.

What I did, and it fixed every issue!:

I am running 10.3 with a 5850 windows 7 x64.

1. Update the ATI HDMI drivers from realtek

2. Install this hotfix from Microsoft for DXDIAG to display the correct DDI version (11).

3. Install update 1-2 and 3 from skidrow. (I still had the sound issues and bad fps after this still in DX9 and 11 i believe) Please Mirror if you can and post here, or get it from torrents.

4. Go into your install folder/redist/directx, and install the dxsetup.exe. This fixed everything!! It must be newer than what's on the ms website.

Played it for hours on max gfx @ 1080P and not even a hickup! No flashlight issues, or anything!

It may not be newer, but rather what it likes. When I tried to install NFS Most wanted it didnt detect directx even though I installed the latest. I went through the CD and installed what it had, and it worked. I think its all about what the game wants, rather than latest directx.

True, but countless people are having this issue. Also, the ddi fix MUST be applied and patches 1, 2, and 3.

I installed this game and thought the gfx and game play was really disappointing!!...Thought it would be hot stuff cus its supposedly the first game that uses DX11....but honestly theres alotta better looking and funner games out there

graphics are top of the lIne if you have a directx11 card and run it with the dx11 .exe.

It looks like the only single player improvements in update 3 are for the tessellation - which don't affect me anyway

The only real gripes I had with this game was that the Predator and Alien campaigns were far too short and you couldn't cancel the 'execution' moves animations once started.

It was a PITA ripping off a head, or snapping an alien etc and then getting hammered by other foes. The damn predator took too long inspecting his trophy

Im pretty sure my video card is pretty close to the top of the food chain...Nvidia GTS360M that came with my Toshiba Qosmio x505...Im playing/played Mass Effect 2/Just Cause 2/Bioshock 2/Batman Arkham Asylum/Borderlands all on high settings and its taken everything I've thrown at it without a hiccup...but when I play AvP on high setting with DX11 but the gfx and the design of the game just arent as high quality as compared to the other games...game felt like it was cheaply put together and the controls felt sluggish...so Im pretty sure it has nothing to do with my video card...Theres just something about the way the aliens look when their crawling on the wall that makes them look so stiff...

THat is not a directx 11 card. Playing the dx 11.exe will just render 10.1.
