Destroyed copy of Windows 7 Upgrade for ASUS what now?

I have a question regarding Windows 7 x64 Upgrade. I used to have Windows 7 x64 Upgrade for Asus but unfortunately it was destroy (by my kid). Not so far away I had to format my hard drive so I went back to Windows Vista (I saved my recovery Vista discs). there are any chances I will get a copy of Upgrade from Microsoft?

Did he just destroy the disk, or did he destroy the licence key as well as the disk.

If you have the licence still then i would see it causing harm to phone Microsoft for a replacment disk as long as it is just the disk, otherwise it's back to store for a brand new copy for you Sir/Madam, I'm afraid.

If the disc is scratched.....

You can try to ask your local video store or even library to see if they have a disc buffer. Maybe toss a few bucks their way and they'll give it a polish.

If you are able to get the disc buffed...Imediately copy the disc to a blank DVD-R.

If you can't get the disc buffed... You can try and apply a few applications of Rain- X to the readable side of the Windows Disc. I've been able to clone a few CD/DVD with this method.

Why not contact Asus since they supplied the disc in the first place. I would imagine for a nominal fee they would replace the disc.
