Not if you want all your hardware devices detected and configured....

About the only way I know to shorten that time is to make sure you have all external drives and devices turned off...

Part of the problem seems to be the SSD itself. I also noticed a much longer BIOS splash screen phase since I installed the SSD - and the rest of my configuration stayed the same. In fact, my BIOS phase is longer then the boot time of Win7.

My BIOS is also longer than my actual Boot times with Windows 7 with my Intel SSD. From power on, till anything comes up on my screen is about 7 seconds. Than another 12 seconds or so until starting Windows7. Then it's about 13 seconds until I'm at the login screen.

Thank you all for your considerate replies...I guess I cannot complain....Compared to XP or VISTA,(I had both),it's lightning fast bootup....I had Western Digital HD,10,000RPM prior to my getting SSD HD....The SSD leaves the WD in the dust..Thanks again all.

Actually, my time on the POST screen goes by so fast that I have to hit the reset button to get into BIOS! Prior to the SSD, it was just a normal pause, now its skips by at a flash.

Do you have Quick Boot enabled (or whatever its name variation) in BIOS?

I have quick boot enabled on my machine. Motherboards are all different with regards to how much time they take to post...and it depends upon what other hardware you have plugged in and what features you have enabled.

Even though my BIOS is nearly 20 seconds, i'm into Windows with my desktop in about 35 seconds total...so that is plenty fast enough for me.
