The only way to do this is not broadcasting the SSID.

Agreed: don't think there is anything u can do from your side. Perhaps a router setting -- but I doubt it. That's the nature of (broadcastable) wifi.

Let's make sure we all understand it is absolutely NOT possible to hide ANY wireless network! PERIOD! That is why wireless networking will NEVER be as secure as wired. You can, as suggested, disable SSID broadcasting, but ANYONE (including badguys) can still easily see your network, if they want to. Disabling SSID broadcasting merely hides the SSID - but the radio waves are still there, ready to be picked by any receiver in the area.

As far as hiding, or not displaying the network info of surrounding networks, I can't see that as being possible, or why it should be possible. The very idea is "announcing" the presence is so users can easily find it, and connect - which, unless you are coming and going and connecting to different wifi networks frequently, is something you should only need to do once.

To hide your neighbor's wifi network, go knock their doors, tell them to disable SSID broadcast... That's the only way. Windows (or whatever OS you use) will pickup SSID broadcast off the air waves, which results you seeing Wifi access point. To make that Wifi access point disappear, you need to tell the Access point owner to disable the SSID, which are your neighbors... So go down the road, knock your neighbor's door, and tell him/her to disable SSID broadcast.
