I have BT/Yahoo as my home page but I'm not there long enough for it to bother me and at present Bing is the default search engine in IE8.

Actually the Bt Yahoo home page now uses Google search.

It's rather counter intuitive

We really had a good day out yesterday and I will upload some photos the next time I'm at work.

To-day I am at the Library Jobsearching and just brought some real ebay bargains. I have got my english course starting afternoon.

You don't need to go to classes, we can teach yer to talk proper 'ere. To start wiv there ain't no 'iphon in today, then ebay shood 'ave a big letter to start wiv, innit it! Know wot i mean! english shood 'ave a big letter! And last Jobsearching ain't a word in the Ho He De! it should be too words job searching. See easy innit it!

Good luck, learn a lot it is much easier to learn when you are young, your head is not full of rubbish like us oldies. Keep us informed on how you get on!

Is that the worst you can do down in the South West? You obviously haven't heard some of the speech you here in and around London, you can't really call it English though I suppose.

I am not on a very good mood today.

Start of the summer has been very boring. All our plans are on ice, due to my mother-in-laws worsened health situation. Judging by the weather it could be October now; mostly cold and windy, raining at least three days out of every five.

Sitting home, not able to help Angie as much as I wanted with her mother. Angie tells me to pack for a few days and go see my family in Finland or travel somewhere else, which we both know I could not do; making even a short trip and leaving her alone to cope with her mother would leave her without extra help when need arises, and give me a bad conscience.

I try to do what I can. I cook and clean home, try to be nice to my wife when she comes home exhausted after a long day with mother. She knows I would like to do more, but we have to think my dear mother-in-laws dignity; she does happily accept my help as long as it's Angie who takes care of her hygienic needs and clothing. What I do is mostly shopping, bringing groceries, take care of her bills etc.

The most difficult thing in this is to see how sad Angie is. She can not help to think that this might be the last summer mother is with us, and it's taking its toll on her.

Thanks, Jan. Three strokes and 84 years, we are used to this. It's just that every now and then comes these days when we feel it's a bit too much.

Took Angie earlier tonight to bed, stayed there with her reading a book until I was sure she was soundly asleep. Came back downstairs after midnight, have been enjoying one of my all time favorite movies (The Big Lebowski) with a few glasses of my favorite single malt (Laphroiag).

It's 3:25 AM now, was already thinking to go back to bed but noticed there's still whisky in the bottle. Put another Jeff Bridges disk in to the player (The Fabulous Baker Boys), movie night continues.

I never go to the Google homepage. If I am going to search for something, I have the search bar in Firefox set up for Google(see snip). Am I the only one that doesn't go to the Google homepage?

FF already does that... its called the Awesomebar. just type it into the address bar, it will either open the right page, or it will search your default search engine for it
