2.80 GHz Processor w/ 8GB RAM - Need Help

You don't have to buy a new PC; however, if you want to play modern games at 1920x1080 you are going to need a much better graphics card and a power supply that can provide sufficient amperage. It's unfortunate you were persuaded into buying a budget htpc card instead of a real gaming card. :( Aside from those two things, you have a very nice machine.
Okay, so I'm going to buy the ATI 5770 but could you give me a name brand 500 or 650 power supply like under 150, could I get a good PSU for under 150?

If you were in my position and had a $300 limit what would you do? The radeon is selling for like 189
That's not a fair question. I belong to the school of thought that believe the PSU is the most important component in the machine; if the PSU isn't strong and stable, then nothing else is. If it were me, given the budget, I'd get this: Newegg.com - PC Power and Cooling Silencer Mk II PPCMK2S750 750W ATX12V v2.2 / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS SILVER Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Then I'd look for a better deal on a 5770, like this: Asus EAH5770CuCore/2DI/1G Radeon HD 5770 Video Card - 1GB GDDR5, PCI-Express 2.0, CrossFireX Ready, DVI, VGA, HDMI at TigerDirect.com.

However, not everyone thinks the same, and if you have your heart set on a particular card at $189.00, then this Corsair PSU is very good too: Newegg.com - CORSAIR CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply

So it doesn't effect the performance if it's ATI or the one you mentioned?
Also is 750 watt PSU good?

They're all ATI's, no matter what manufacturer actually produces the card, be it XFX, Asus, or HIS. You can't buy an "ATI" 5770 because ATI doesn't actually make video cards (for sale), they design them and then send the technical specs to manufacturers.

Is PC Power & Cooling a good PSU? lol, yes, they've been known to toss out a fairly decent psu every now and then, much like Ferrari tosses out a decent looking car every now and then. :p This one has 62.4 amps on the +12 volt rail, and it comes with a 5 year warranty. It will last you a very long time.

Alright, I'll look into every thing you've given me.
I appreciate it A LOT.

If you COULD do me one more favor, link me all the video cards and PSU's mentioned in this thread and ones you'd suggest. Even though I'm rooting for the 5770 and that PSU you mentioned nothings every perfect.

Okay thanks for the Canadian site. Now with that 5770 you linked me, well the list. The first one that was 149$ is a 512 MB or something like that, made by powercolor, now the ones under that one made by Gigabyte are all 1GB and about 179$. Does it matter if it's 512MB or 1GB?

And I guess I'll pull the trigger on that Canadian PSU you linked me, it's 750 right? So it'll be really good?

You need to look at what you get with different companies when going for the same card. Some give better warranties or extra goodies. Some have lousy customer service (looking at you Vision***)

Just something to think about :)

Try disabling Windows Media Player network sharing service, it helped me.
Defrag your HD, run some cleaning programs (optional), clean the case, get rid of the dust. Try to remember any changes that you made in the last few days.
Try disabling V-Sync, which limits FPS to 60.

Oh, and really the human eye can't notice the difference after 72 FPS. Oh right, and if your computer used to play at 150 FPS, wouldn't that be like in a super fast motion?
