Need Help to figure out my BSOD problem.

But why do Eset NOD32 or Kaspersky cause a BSOD? I am installing MSE right now, I would just like to know why it is better..

It may have to do with the enhanced security built into Win7 and the way Win 7 uses security tokens. This is totally different than the way Vista worked. These third party firewalls and suites might be causing applications to hang and then then crash due to the way Win7 uses security tokens.

This is not my theory; it is from a very knowledgeable member of this forum.

Hello Everyone
I've just made this new user to try to help.

I also have a netbook Acer One (model AOA-150) also known as zg5.

I've installed successfully Windows 7 in this netbook (had XP and was running nicely), but it has some serious freeze problems.

Sometimes when i work w/ it gets random freezes (can be 5 minutes or 3 days) or so. I think it depends on the amount of work or download it do.
There's no BSOD, no error message, no strange sounds, just freeze.
Also, haven't found any error logs (seems like suddenly stops functioning, even when playing to the song, also freezes making only a repeat-glitch thing. )

I've used linux (a distrib. called LordLinux, based on ubuntu) and had also random freezes(more common freezing when using INTENSIVE wifi and read/write harddisk

later, used another distrib. of Linux (another partition) and has never given me troubles.

I've tried all:

-Running memtest and memtest86 for 6-12 passes with all 9 test and always comes clean.

-Uninstall AV's and firewalls (currently uninstalled NOD32, & have no firewall)
-Update every damn driver (uninstalling, reinstalling and so on, especially wireless card and video driver)

Things i've changed

-New memory brand (ELPIDA??) 1gb (has in-built 512mb, therefore NOT REMOVABLE , plus a single slot for a memory, used by the memory card ELPIDA )total= 1.5gb
-New hard disk (hitachi 160gb, the other one had errors because the constant reebot)

I would like to know if there's any solution (or how to figure out what's the problem)
Thanks in advance!!!:)

Done (Hitachi Disk Fitness test, Normal an Advanced Mode) The test was flawless.
Also, Hard Disk has been used just for a week and a half, so i don't think would be the problem

Yes, if you have problem drivers, they will cause a BSOD and the resulting dump file usually identifies the offending driver.

Okay, my laptop crashed at the boot. (after the green bar saying "Microsoft Corporation and before the login). Here's the memory.dmp (i didn't know where it was, so i searched my entire disk :sleepy:)

Dumpfile 07/05/2010

It's 17mb so i can't upload it to the forum
Waiting for good news!!! :)

Edit: Curious thing. There's no Blue screen while working, just freezes and when rebooting appears the BSOD

Yes, that is sometimes the case.

Have you got your computer configured for minidumps? I can't use that full dump file. Read this thread on how to upload minidumps and configure your system for them.

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/83172-dump-files-upload-seven-forums.html

I am sorry that I cannot work with that one. Set your machine up for minidumps, keep Driver Verifier enabled and keep using your machine. Upload any dmps as soon as you can.

No problem @CarlTR6, you are doing an awesome job trying to help me and other users :)

Anyway, i just don't had to wait too much time for another freeze (again) and then trying to reboot and...just another BSOD (between the time showing green bar loading at boot and login screen)

Hope this one work!!

Thanks, Ravelord. And thanks for the new dmps. Unfortunately, they are partially corrupted. Probably nothing you did; it just happens sometimes. Possibly your machine crashed too quickly and all of the data was not saved.

STOP 0x00000050: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

Usual causes: Defective hardware (particularly memory - but not just RAM), Faulty system service, Antivirus, Device driver, NTFS corruption, BIOS

STOP 0x000000C9: DRIVER_VERIFIER_IOMANAGER_VIOLATION

Usual causes: Driver verifier

Well now, I have never seen the error C9 before. I am going have to get some help with this one. Maybe one of the other team members will be able to run a complete analysis on these two dumps.

From the first error code, 50, we are looking at hardware and/or hardware related problems.

I only got the error codes out of each dump; the rest of the analysis would not run. I will wait for the next dumps and hope I have better luck. In the mean time, I'll ask for help with that C9 error code.

Thank you @CarlTR6 for all your help. As same as you, also think it crashes too quick because w/ the older HD disk had the same problems but when was an error, sounded like a "click" (meaning that the HD stop working or so), This new drive doesn't do the "click" but also do the same errors.

Anyway, I'm doing this becasuse lots of people has Acer One models that cannot run Windows 7 properly. And because i've read too much "solutions" that didn't work. Anyway i have the hope that the problem will be something that can be solved by myself or, if is a bug of some sort, it will be fixed with some time.

By the way, there's another minidump. Hope it helps solve this mystery.

Usual causes: Driver verifier

Means driver verifier is running at each boot. Disable it.. this should only be used for diagnosing faulty drivers and forcing a crash.

Here is how:
Boot into safe mode (Press F8 during post and select safe mode.)
Open start menu and in search type Verifier.exe
Then select 'Delete Existing Settings' and click next.
Restart.

This was not a complete dump either and had the C9 code. As Davidxtux suggested, go ahead and turn off Driver Verifier. It is not helping us at this point.
