Under XP I enjoyed using the sleep mode. I'm not sure if that's the correct translation, in my German windows it's called "Ruhezustand".
The PC was off (more or less) and didn't consume much energy, and I could easily wake it up and had all the software and all the files open, just as I had left it.
It seems that Win 7 has a similar function but it doesn't work. When I click it, the PC shuts down, stays off for about 2 seconds, and then it restarts by itself, without me touching anything.
Somebody told me it could be the network adapter, so I disabled the option that it could wake up the PC, but that didn't help either.
Any suggestions please?
