Hi everybody,

I'm new here.
I've got a problem with windows 7 and the resolution and color settings.
I've been searching for almost 2 whole. Just sitting behing my laptop searching for an answer but i can't find one.
So i hope you can help me.

Here is my problem.
I have clean installed windows 7 32 bit on my Acer laptop apsire 5720zg with Nvidia GeForce 8400M GS. The original OS on the Acer was Vista.
At the first time at startup my resolution was down to 640x480 and I can't change it.
And my colors are set back to 16 mb. I thought I had to download the newest driver of Nvidia. I did that but when i installed it and restarted my laptop it gave me an error code 43.

I've been trying several drivers from Nvidia but it doesn't help.

Can someone please help me.

Wouter

Hi wouter, welcome to the forums , hereis the link to your drivers Acer Europe - Service & Support, Drivers & Utilities, Downloads as with most laptops the graphic driver is unique to the mobo manufacturer ;)

Pebbly is right on point here! If you have a spare USB thumb drive or some sort of external storage it would also be a great idea to save a copy of each drivers install file in case you need to reinstall Windows 7 down the road. I have all of my Dell drivers on my external HDD *just in case*. :)

with the drivers being designed for Vista ,you will have to install them in compatibility mode http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/316-compatibility-mode.html ;)

I tried the compatible but it doesn't change anything.
Then somehow i was looking if explorer.exe was compatible (it should be because i installed it from the Windows 7 cd) but what i saw was explorer.exe is compatible with windows 95??? (see atachted tumbnail).
That's not right i think....
