Been stressing alot recently about the idle temps of my cpu (new pc case) (when load temps are spot on) after much research and much stress about what turns out to be nothing i found this
IDF Taipei: Intel Releases DTS Specs For All Core 2 Processors
Basically if your idle temps seem high or low then dont worry as they are almost 100% likely to be reporting way off (45nm are the worst)
Just thought id share incase anyone else is spending time worrying about nothing

oh and to make matters worrse it seems i have 2 sensors (core0 and core3) that are absolutely and completely stuck..........it just gets better and better :sarc:"The digital thermal sensor (DTS) accuracy is in the order of -5°C +10°C around 90°C ; it deteriorates to ±10°C at 50°C. The DTS temperature reading saturates at some temperature below 50°C. Any DTS reading below 50°C should be considered to indicate only a temperature below 50°C and not a specific temperature. External thermal sensor with “BJT” model is required to read thermal diode temperature."
