Just bought the new formula one game, and it is excellent,a few bugs, but still brilliant.
I was just doing my first race after a lot of practice, got myself into first place on lap 47 only 2 laps left and bang - the wife knocked the power switch by accident,so my 2 hours plus went down the drain.

Command & Conquer 3 with Kane's Wrath + Retarded & The Forgotten Add-ons.

I won't touch the awful Command & Conquer 4 mind. Truly awful game and riddled with ridiculous DRM crap.

Got Fallout 3 downloaded again from Steam and been playing that today. Just getting achievements on it.

I was checking out other mods on this game earlier.

Wanders Edition & MMM really changes the feel of the game.

Explosives are truly deadly! :)

I'm not using any mods at the moment. Haven't got round to installing them, but I installed Welcome to the Wasteland when I last played it. Adds a much more "wasteland" feel to it, and imo, what it should have always been like.

It does stuff like make food more sustainable for health, yet more irradiated. Stim packs are ultra rare, and very expensive. Like they were in the first half of Fallout 2. Also food and stimpacks have had their weight adjusted, so they're heavier now, which makes choosing what to take out with you harder and a bunch of other stuff.

Certainly a mod worth getting if you're looking for a harder challenge (play it on hard or very hard with this mod).

Even though I loved Fallout 3 I have't replayed since finishing it about a year ago. And I certainly haven't played it with any mods.

However the mod you mention, Welcome to the Wasteland, sounds intiguing enough to to want to give it another go. Unfortunately with Fallout New Vegas around the corner it'll be some time before I do another play through of Fallout 3, but when I do, I'll give alot of the mods a try.

Ill have to check out that wasteland one.

Wanders Edition is somewhat similar, but it incororpates many popular mods, and intergrated support for others. (Like MMM and Project Beauty)
Marts Mutant Mod can be intergrated and configured right from the FWE menus.

It does the same in a sense.
Food has Weight and higher Rads but offers no benefit other than for the need to eat. (doesnt heal you) Same for Drinks.
You can also refill Water bottles.

You cant fast travel either, although there alternate mades of travel. Hiring caravns to take you places etc.
You'll need to make use of bed rolls, or know where beds are to satisfy the sleep need. Also, you can't carry as much weight either, so you have to make use of the wearable backpacks, etc.
You can cook your food from raw materials too :) Also, more crafting options and addon for weapons you can make.

On top of all that, Stimpacks heal health, slowly over time & They can not heal a crippled limb.
For that it relies on Medicne skill, and collecting things like braces, crutches etch to make a splint with until you can get to a doctor to get patched up properly.

Many new weapons, ammo, drugs etc intergrated.
The odds of finding ammo or meds are much rarer, and the weapons that do drop are in poorer condition. You'll actually have to deal with traders to get what you need.

So, Barter will be an essential skill now as well as everything will be much more expensive if not.

Then other changes, like explosives has larger more deadly splash radius. Weapons are more deadly etc.

The more weight you carry, the slower you can move.

You also have choices for lock picking.
Pick as normal, Force it, or try to breech it using a grenade or mine (explosive skills matter and you can destroy the contents)

Revamped stats and Perks. after choosing the same perk 5 times for example you get a new bonus perk. Less points to spend each level making your choices matter more etc.

There are tons of additions that make the world much more realistic and ... also much more hostile. I actually like it.

The only thing about FWE, and Im sure youll see in the Read Mes, is that it does require the use of FOSE.

So if achievements are important to you at this point, this is not a good mod.
FOSE disbales Live.

unfortunately fallout 3 is the only game i tried that didn't work very well with windows 7, i think it was due to my x-fi sounds and alchemy settings, but the game just kept regularly crashing. luckily i'd already finished it once under xp, so i'm hoping the new vegas game will use openAL rather than directsound3D.

been playing civ v or a couple of days, and so far i'm sorry to report that i'm a bit underwhelmed.

sure there are a few good improvements in some aspects of the game, but overall it all feels a bit dumbed-down and console-ified - it seems that's the way the industry is going - sigh. it's still a little buggy (nothing major for me luckily), it looks like some corners have been cut, and i'm not too keen on the voice-acting either - bring back leonard nimoy i say!

Right now I'm playing "Reset the Bios" because I just went one step too far with the memory clock and got my first BSOD while playing Assassin's Creed 2.. and it's a bad one

That one isn't all that great, but not so bad the 1st time.
Its replayabilty factor really sticks, and gets old fast. :p
