Computer restarts at blue setup screen.
Alright. I recently bought some new parts to rebuild my computer. I bought a AMD Phenom II X2 555 Black Edition,
Asus m4a88td-v Evo/usb3 motherboard,
Western Digital caviar black 1TB SATA 6/Gbs Hard drive,
8GB (2 x 4gb) G Skill DDR3 ram,
Lian Li Lancool PC-K58 Case
Windows 7 home premium Upgrade
But I kept my Disc Drive, graphics card and PSU from my last computer.
Nvidia Geforce GTX 275
BFG 550w PSU
Ok so I put the computer together and right off the bat it wouldn't display anything on the monitor if I used the DVI on the Video Card. So I just used the onboard graphics and went ahead and installed Vista and that installed just fine. After the installation the device manager wasn't showing that my video card was in the computer. So I set the graphics priority (in the BIOS) to PCI first and plugged into my graphics card and restarted and it worked just fine, got the updates and it recognized it. So after installing the Asus disc that came with my mother board, I installed a few more asus drivers that windows told me to install.
Now on to the real issue at hand... I decided it was time to install Windows 7 upgrade. It went very smoothy almost all the way through. But after one of restarts it did automatically, nothing was being displayed on my screen (like my previous issue). I tried to switch to the onboard graphics....nothing. I know they weren't working because the monitor just goes to sleep.
So after it stopped working I figured there was only one thing I could do. I reset my computer and as it reset I think it was running some kind of repair or scan. After that was done it reset again and went back to the blue setup screen but almost instantly it gives my an error saying "The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered and unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To continue installation click "OK" to restart the computer, and then restart the installation"
So I click OK to restart and everytime it tells me the same exact error at the same exact blue setup screen (not BSOD). I have tried running both windows options. (at the black screen where you choose what windows version to use) There's Windows 7 and Windows setup rollback. Pressing F8 On both of them I have tried to run them both on Safe Mode, "Last known good configuration", "debugging mode", "disable automatic restart on system failure" and "Repair your Computer" (Windows 7 option only). None of these work at all. The only thing that remotely does anything is if I run Safe Mode on Windows Setup Rollback, But all it does is come up to a Black screen where it says Safe mode on all four side of the display and after 5-10 seconds it just restarts itself and goes back to the same error after the restart. I also can't seem to run the windows setup at all to be able to do a repair or clean install.
I don't know what to do anymore. I can't find anyone with the same issue as me.
It's like I gotta buy a new hardrive or somethin...
