Solved Bulldozers Overclocking CPU's

Hi I just wanted to touch Bases on the Bulldozer chips
Namely the 8120 which i have ,I have Atempted to over clock this chip beyond factory specs Being 3.1 stock to my current 4.4 Ghz

I been reading reading and reading and havn't found any Liable information about overclocking these chips on my PARTICULAR board MSI 990fx Gd-80

I want to know if i disable the C6 will that have an effect on my Vdroop or persay effect on my limatation of increasing core voltage

I am reading people have gone as far as 5 Ghz with these chips with litle to no tweeking i run prime stable and 4.5 Ghz but bricks on WEI I also bought a new power supply in hopes it was the reason why i was bricking but still no options for better voltage increase

Does anyone think i just hit my Max chip potential or is there something i am missing here ?

also i have a option to crank my memory up from standard 1600mhz to 1866 Oc'ed you think that would be wise to set it high when it isn't rated that high ?

I need some guidence so i can see how to get the most from this beast

Since I posted up on my Initial chip earlier

I've gotten no replys but now I have seen many users surface 8150 BE 8120 BE 6100's and 4100 FX Cpu's

Now that this is Established maybe we can colaborate and make a effort to get the best performance and tweeks out of these chips

I already posted info on mine ,I would love to hear from other now which would be really cool and Again not just limited to 8120 Cpu all FX chips

I see a bulldozer in my future but still a little down the road a piece, but for sure I'd like to collaborate on settings as our spec's will be very similar.

Considering AMD broke the OC record with an 8150 @ over 8ghz, I'd say they are very overclockable. Obviously there were extenuating circumstances in their ability to make those scores, it is telling of their capabilities. Have fun with it, just remember, watch those temps.

Solar you can give your RAM a boost to 1866 if it won't take it, it won't boot and will just reset you to default, I think. If your RAM is 1600 it may be stable up to 1660 or maybe 1680 or so, that was my experience with a FX-6100 and 1600 RAM. At any rate you won't see any faster performance nor frame rate in games. WEI and benchmarks should improve though.

The overclock record was set with a FX-8150 with only one core running and on liquid helium @ about 2V.

I am way under 2v Thank goodness but im Wondering what is limiting me from keeping this Beast at 4.5 Ghz 24/7 like i have this 4.4 Ghz steady temps great gaming etc....

I actually had it at 4.5 Ghz but the WEI is what Bsod me in the end and that's why im wondering is the ram holding me back and it always stop on the disk part of the WEI assuming i might need a new SSD maybe or the I need a higher ram latency

I just cranked my V-core to max 1.449 because that is as far it will go

I also took in consideration what taking it to the max will do

My temps are fine so far and i also kept 4.5 Ghz stable now I have C1E disable and can' get anymore juice is this safe for my v-core to be all the way at the end ?

These chips can take over 1.45 volts so i want to know should i back it off or would i be secure with this cause that is the only way i can keep a 4.5 Oc stable

any suggestions are welcomed and my temps never went above 61c and ran benchmarks no BSOD'S 53c was my max temp after running wei with the core temp open remember there supposed to be a offset but none the less not over the line

Yea ,I thinking this is the best im going to get with this board i should have gotten a formula board but hell who cares right most people can't even get where im digging

So I am officially satisfied as of yet 4.6 would be even better as it ran well on 4.6 but i noticed when i did bump voltage to the max everything seemed a lot easier for the system to do right away which makes me think that is what i really needed more v-core

I will leave it be for now let it run 24/7 I havn't gamed on it yet I did before at 4.5 but it was unstable but the game still ran gold That was tottally beyond me anywho if you think my temps are great and I am in no danger of making toast then i am good to go

Playing with CPU NB Voltages

I was curious as to How much should I increase Cpu Nb

So I decided to Bump it a little Higher from 1.1750 to 1.1880

This little Bump sent my Cinbench score up pretty good my question is has anyone else used this method and what does it exactly compensate for ?

Is it really more for Memory stability or Cpu Stability for the Memory please if someone knows about this shed some light on it also I have heard it is safe all the way to 1.3350 im not willing to take the risk but i would like to know the Benifits risk because I have used FSB /Multiplyer /cpu v-vore My current speed is 4.480 Ghz

Regarding cpu/nb voltage, In one of the guide's on the same forum by one of the asus mods says to set @ 1.2v as a starting point
I know its for the v Formula but thought there would be quite a few people with this combination of hardware.
