just taken my first successful steps into the world of OC'ing, I have tried in the past and managed to nearly break my system by pushing too hard and too quickly.
Thanks to Nvidia System Tools, as my BIOS is OEM locked against OC'ing i've managed to get my little Celermon E1400 2.0Ghz up to 2.3Ghz but according to various posts on the OC forums i can take it to 2.4 without a voltage increase, getting a little concerned about temps though, its hitting 50C after 2 hours of Prime95 will have to see if 2.4 gets a bit too hot for my blood
Wow, it's been a LONG time since my last post. Been trying to get the best overclock on my Phenom II X2 550 unlocked with my Freezer 64 Pro while keeping the noise and temperature at minimum.
I have choice of running my Phenom at Quad 3.36Ghz, Tripple 3.48Ghz or Dual Core 3.6Ghz. Currently running Tripple Core @ 3.36Ghz with my DDR2 800 G.Skills @ DDR2 960.
Everything has been Prime95 and OCCT tested for stability.
thank you :) you are absolutely right, I monitored my temps whilst doing other processor intensive stuff (games, DVD encoding etc.) and it never got anywhere near the 53C cap that prime 95 hit, i think my top temp was about 42, unfortunately I've hit another snag, 2.4Ghz just isnt working for me.... It randomly exits programs that use alot of processor power (not Prime 95 wierdly though ) and was BSOD'ing quite a bit until I backed her off to 2.3 again, 2.3 seems to be stable though, so i guess im stuck there until i can get a better system.
