Well as a general rule Wizard one d should only run one real time AV at any one time. My Kaspersky will not "play with" anything but the paid fro Malwarebytes and I used to use that free version before.
You will find that most of the members in here will agree with what I have just said and personally I would get rid of all but one major AV you have on board as they will conflict with each other and maybe some or part of the problems you have had.

The three on call scanners I advise to others are these

http://www.superantispyware.com/

http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free/

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/

ADW download frombleeping computer delete any rubbish found with the malware scans

The choice of course is entirely yours of which one you choose to leave installed and use as the main security.

There are many you can use for free if that is an issue see this

Thanks, Icit2lol. I use mbam, and a another antispyware/virus thing. Both scan clean, as did Spybot. A fairly new, clean install.

Ok, more info. The Spybot thing is known to them. Courtesy of Spybot, if you wish to fix the issue w/o uninstalling Spybot:
Open Spybot (right click on icon and "Run as Administrator")
Click "Advanced User Mode"
Select Settings and click "System Integration" tab
Uninstall "Windows Explorer Integration"
Click "Apply" and "Ok".
You can also launch settings using the icon in the STTray (near the clock on lower RHS.)

Since Spybot was uninstalled, I reinstalled, using the "I want to control what is installed" path.
On the "Select Additional Tasks" box, there is an "Integration" topic. I unclicked both boxes, one pertaining to Explorer Autoplay, the other pertaining to the Context Menu. I'll report back if this doesn't work.

Thanks to SpyBot for their quick reply.

So the only AV you have running is Spybot?

By the way, WE works like a charm now.

Here's the text I excerpted to show what fixed mine:

Why does Windows Explorer crash upon right click in the left pane?

In Windows Explorer, the moment I right click on any folder Windows Explorer crashes: "Windows Explorer has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."

I have run System File Checker. Nothing.

I have used MSCONFIG to disable everything except Windows components. It still occurs.

Any thoughts? I work around it by using the File menu or working in the right pane, but it is maddening. Had no such problems with XP.

Thanks.
Solution:
The ShellExView utility displays the details of shell extensions installed on your computer, and allows
you to easily disable and enable each shell extension.
ShellExView - Shell Extension Manager For Windows

Sorry for taking so long to respond. It's taken me awhile to be able to clear a day to work on this -- it's taken 2 in all.

In reference to your included list...deciphering the CBS log proved impossible as my entries didn't seem to match the referenced site, but it says it repairs something.

On the 2nd section...the Right Click Slow article didn't have the same symptoms I had.

The "Manage the context-menu entries..." article gave me an error and wouldn't display.

ShellExView is wonderful! I started disabling anything non-Microsoft and it fixed the problem. Now I just have to figure out which one is the guilty party.

Also downloaded FileMenuTools (LopeSoft) and found it to be great for removing the entries (found in your How To Edit... link) without digging through the registry.

Anyway, I wanted to thank you for the help. At least it works again!

Taking it a step farther:

I used ShellExView to fix this also. I did take it a step farther (you might have too) to find the culprit. I can't even believe - it was my good old trusty SpyBot! Here is the file:
- Spybot-S&D Explorer Integration
- Context Menu
- Windows Explorer context menu integration
- 2.3.39.113
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Spybot - Search & Destroy 2\SDECon64.dll
- {44176360-2BBF-4EC1-93CE-384B8681A0BC}
I disabled it and now, it doesn't do it at all.
Hope this helps someone else.

Pat
