Allowing "Reliability Monitor" access to the internet
Hi,
I've been struggling with setting outbound rules for the Reliability Monitor for several days now. I've been surfing the net over that time and found nothing that could assist me. I've tried different rules this way and that way with no success. So.. What I know... The Reliability Monitor can access the net if I give explorer.exe full access with no limitations. I'm not happy with that configuration because I want Reliability Monitor to be connected whenever I'm on the net. I can't just let explorer have full access. What I've learned. 1) Setting an outbound rule for explorer with any service does not work. Gave it access to all services and couldn't connect. 2) Reliability Monitor is linked to an application extension werconcpl.dll. werconcpl.dll is, as far as I've learned, a part of the Problem Reports and Solutions Control Panel Support (PRS CPS) service. As mentioned before, no service will work with explorer to solve my issue. So in my surfing I learned that PRS CPS'spath to executable is: c:\windows\System32\svchost.exe -k netsvcs. Tried giving that full path name outbound access and it did not work. Tried giving svchost access with the assigned service of wercplsupport (PRS CPS). Still nothing. I've run out of ideas. It would be nice if windows firewall would let me give access to werconcpl.dll. I've learned in posts about other firewalls that giving access to werconcpl.dll and everything will work. Desperate for help. Thanks. Wayne PS. I don't know if this is relevant but my internet connection is always set to public. |

In addition.
I just tried giving both explorer and svchost outbound rules at the same time with the assigned service of wercplsupport. Still nothing. |
