Hello everyone,

My pc crashed yesterday during a cpu stability test with occt. I had to redo overclocking after a cpu cooler upgrade because the xmp profile somehow started causing bsod's. I fixed that by manually setting the timings for my RAM. Since the crash (the one that occured during the occt stability test) i've lost one partition on my ssd. I have two partitions on it one for os and one for data. The second partition is now green in disk management and it lost it's drive letter and data. I will try to recover the partition with TestDisk when the bsod is fixed. With bluescreenview i found this bsod.

Could this have something to do with my gpu? It does quite often give me the atikmdag has stopped working error. It's been doing this since i bought it and it has been returned to Asus for repair but it kept doing this after i got it back. I have done complete driver uninstalls with DDU and also cleaned the registry but that never helped. And after the uninstall i always have to install Catalyst 12.1 first because the overclocking utility iTracker2 provided by Asus for this gpu only works when an old driver has been installed beforehand. It somehow does not work when i install the latest driver first after the uninstallation.

How can i fix this bsod?

Overclocking may cause such an issue, the overclockers are aware of it. If the BSODs continue to occur in the normal operations too, reduce the clocks ... and if still it continues, set the hardware to the default settings.

If the BSOD continues with the default hardware settings too, let us know.
