I'm waiting for capacities to increase to 1 TB SSD for $400 or less to buy one. How many years do you think I'll have to wait?

Of course by then you won't need it. GEN 6 will be on the market or a RAM/SSD combination. All circuitry and no cables. Plug it into a socket next to the CPU.
