11.5 GB unallocated

I deleted my factory image which was 11.5 GB by using disk management. When I click computer on my desk top it on shows C and the D partition is gone. When you right click computer and click manage then disk management the drive is in two parts. The first part is 584 GB and the second part is 11.5 GB.The first part is blue bar on top and the 11.5 part has a black bar on top. How do I bring the 11.5 part into the other big part and make one solid primary partition. I hope this makes sense.

From the disk management window that you are already in, you should be able to right click on the portion of the drive that is allocated(the 584gb partition), and choose "Extend Volume". Clicking Next through the wizard that pops up will by default expand the selected partition to the maximum allowable space.

Glad I could help. All that this is actually doing is wrapping a GUI around the "Diskpart" command line utility, which is built into Windows. Nice stuff, don't even need to reboot to resize your OS drive anymore

Have a look at this boot disk for that stuff now as the one you mention is out-of-date with Windows 7 and is causing some serious issues now when used.

Thanks BFK. I have a few modern boot disks with that kind of tool on it, I just havent had to use one since XP.
I tend to backup to external then full format (deleting any wasteful partitions) at the first OS installation on any system so this negates the need for such tools.
