So I have an annoying issue with screen resolution, here it is:

I recently updated my NVidia drivers (for a GTX 470), in hope of fixing a graphics bug in a game (which didn't help by the way, making this change completely worthless...) and now my 1400x1050 screen resolution isn't showing up (in the Win7 Screen Reolution manager). It shows up in my NVidia control panel when I create it as a custom resolution, but even then it won't show up in the built-in manager. I know this is possible, because using my old display driver it showed up just fine.

Notes:
-I tried rolling back my display drivers, and it still doesn't show up in the list like it used to.
-the resolution DOES show up in the list when I'm actually using it, but when I revert to another setting it disappears again.
-on a much older display driver, the resolution showed up without me having to ever create it custom, in the NVidia control panel or otherwise.

To be fair, I can still access it via the NVidia control panel but.... I just want it to show up in the regular manager like it used to! Honestly, is that asking too much??

In the grand scheme of things there's two major things one has to work with, the monitor and what it can handle and the video/graphics adapter/card that can provide what the monitor can use. It does become hard to get the two to work together. I like the 1440x900 setting but could use less such as 1400x1050 or more clear up to the recommended 1920x1080 but they don't suit my needs. Buying or building a new computer requires much more research and thought than just getting a program and installing it. Maybe the problems people have with nVidia and EVGA is why I have stayed with lower-priced ATI and AMD ATI cards but then I'm not a gamer and don't need all the extras.
From Google Search:
EVGA is the #1 NVIDIA authorized partner in channel sales throughout North America and UK

It's difficult for companies to produce the exact products that satisfy me, you and the millions/billions of other users in this world.
