Hi, I like to use various browsers, some come in 32 bits and some in 64. Is there any problem installing both 32 and 64 bits flash and java? Any conflicts, etc.?

Thanks!

Well, when I saw I had a choice of Washington, Lincoln, or Obama, naturally I went right for the "hope and change and prosperity" guy. I have one other question that I have Googled and Binged to death; is it possible to change the default browser to be IE 8 64 bit? Since all the plugins work now why not? I've found all sorts of esoteric registry hacks and so on, but what little makes sense doesn't work and as for the rest of it... Being primarily a Linux guy I have no problem messing with things but I have learned to back up the registry and create a restore point before I go fiddling with Bill's new baby.

They made it difficult to set as default on purpose I would guess. I'm sure it is possible, albeit a sloppy and dirty way, but I myself have never tried it so I wouldn't personally know the way to do it with zero problems.

OK, pretty much what I figured. Most of the "advice" out there about how to do it is pretty flakey, much like trying to make the 64 bit media player the default.

Sorry for the OT post, but I didn't have any issues changing the 64 bit media player to the default. I just edited the registry keys that referenced the 32 bit player exe location to point to the 64 bit exe location and, viola, done! :)

I haven't tried it with the 64 bit IE as I don't use it anyway. I use the 64 bit FF as default.
