32-bit MSVCP100.dll for 64-bit system?

[My apologies if this is in the wrong sub-forum]

I am using Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (original + some updates, not SP1)

I wish to run a 32-bit application extension which requires MSVCP100.dll. The screenshot below shows the MSVCP100.dll files on my PC. I understand that the one in C:\Windows\System32\ is the 64-bit edition. And that I need an equivalent 32-bit edition to be in C:\Windows\SysWOW64.

Could someone let me know how do that?

One person suggested installing this:
Download Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86) from Official Microsoft Download Center
Another suggested this one:

But I would like to make sure that the solution is right for installing the 32-bit package on a Window 7 64-bit system.

Also:
-- is the SP1 package backward-compatible?
-- can this installation corrupt Windows itself?

You are asking for trouble not updating your Windows, SP1 will not suffice, the amount of updates after SP1 would make another SP.

Having said that, you can install x86 versions of Visual C++ Redistributables on 64bit systems. 100 should be 2010.

Thank you for the warning about the updates, I am installing some of them.

Which of those two download packages should I be using? Or is there one somewhere-else?

They are essentially the same thing. Notice one is SP1. If you install the non-SP version, Windows Update will ask you to download and install it's SP. So better get the SP1 version.

In the end both will be the same

Download the service pack 1 for Windows 7 and install that one instead of installing stand alone:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5842 check the x64 exe (should be the 2nd one from the bottom in list when you click download)

But, for the moment, I'll pass on the big update to SP1 (I remember that when I did the XP SP2 update it caused several problems).
