I ran it with /F and it fixed the problem.but still got BSOD after this (5th crash)

Thoughts of possible suspects:
-sound card driver issues
-when i first installed windows Pagefile.sys and hibernate.sys were huge so i disabled hibernate and somehow disabled Pagefile.sys but I forget how.
these files were like 13gb large! i had to do something about it on my 64gb ssd that is already only 59gb. and with 16gb of ram i didnt think it would ever be a problem.
-I didnt manually format P and S partitions when i first installed. they were brand new drives. i had to set them up in Disk Manager by right clicking in it and choosing "New Simple Volume..."
-monitor issues? maybe the cableing on the second monitor is messing with something (DVI to HDMI converter on vid card with a HDMI to DVI cable to monitor). i just didnt have another DVI lying around). 2 different resolutions, sizes and aspect ratios?

I have run it with /R but i did again just in case and found no errors no bad sectors.

I enabled my PageFile.sys again to see if that helps. its huge though at over 13gb now. sigh. takes up a lot of my small SSD.

Have you tried cleaning your gold edges of the RAM with a rubber? It always helps defying the problem at hand. Just remember to touch some metal parts of your caseing before touching the RAM(To avoid static).. After a good clean give it a try..:D

they are brand new. clean out of the box. also it gives no errors when i ran a 8 hour stress test. you really think this could be the problem?

I also want to add that my system hickups a bit currently. as in when i type something into say a web browser it some times takes a sec to appear. like i type something, the cursor pauses, i see nothing of what i just typed then it quickly jumps and all that i typed shows up. you know what i mean? this shouldnt happen with my set up. at all. its doing something behind the scenes.

I might just try a reformat. I've ran tests on my ram, cpu, hdd's with no errors. could be a video card or audio card problem though. could be anything. dam bluescreens being so mysterious.

did that last test dump right? I'm not sure what to look for. but i like to learn :D

Download & run FURMARK and let it run for a while(To stress test your GPU)... Keep a close look at the TEMP of your GPU..Also download the latest ATI drivers but before install, uninstall the old drivers & restart... There is a good tool to use with your display its called ATIExperttool..You can set a couple of settings by using this like fan speed ect.

ok i did some stress tests:

First i did a Burn-In test for 30 minutes @ full screen Resolution: 1680x1050 (FS) - AA:2 samples:
max temp 81, avg fps 25, max fan speed 47%

then some menchmarks at 1 min each one right after the other with little time in between to cool off:

-BM 1 SCORE:1488 points (24 FPS, 60000 ms) FPS: min:22, max:31, avg:24 - OPTIONS: DynBkg
-BM 2 SCORE:943 points (15 FPS, 60000 ms) FPS: min:13, max:19, avg:15 - OPTIONS: DynCam
-BM 3 SCORE:1318 points (21 FPS, 60000 ms) FPS: min:22, max:23, avg:21 - OPTIONS: none (burn in)
-BM 4 SCORE:646 points (10 FPS, 60000 ms) FPS: min:11, max:12, avg:10 - OPTIONS: XB
-BM 5 SCORE:2179 points (36 FPS, 60000 ms) FPS: min:34, max:40, avg:36 - OPTIONS: FX

no crashes. temps look good.

*also worth reiterating i am running 2 screens. one 16:10 @ 1680X1050 via DVI and one 4:3 @ 1280X1024 via DVI/HDMI converter to HDMI/DVI cable. stress tests on my 16:10 widescreen samsung.

I ran Guru3D - Driver Sweeper and my system is completely !@*#(&! the ssd with windows on it is fine but my disks on my RAID are so corrupt i cant repair them with CHKDSK. it gets unexpected errors. many files are gone including all my music recordings. i backed it up last week but still now i gotta explain to my band mates that a hole week (many hours) worth of work are gone... not to mention many files i didnt have backed up (not vcrazy important stuff i can think of but still a pain). any suggestions? help!

its my fault. i didnt read your post right. i just selected all that Guru3D - Driver Sweeper found then analysed it and cleaned it. i thought you were just saying to run it. so i did.... grrrr not just for the anti virus

Download and install all new drivers from the Gigabyte web site and then any others you think you will need.

You might try to put one of your HDDs in another computer to see if you can read from it, or an external enclosure.

Your Page file should be able to be turned off with that much RAM, it is usually recommended to leave it on even with a SSD. Just make it smaller, Initial size 500 to 1000MB and Maximum size 1000 to 2000MB. I set mine at Initial 1000MB/Max 2000MB.

General causes of "STOP 0x0000007F" errors are usually hardware caused, including RAM.

You have a lot of RAM installed.
Anything over 4GB will usually require a memory controller voltage bump, as will RAM cards 2GB or larger, and when four RAM cards are installed.
You have all three, first can you D/L CPUZ and post a snip of the CPU, Mainboard, Memory, and SPD tabs.

For posting the information , enter 'Snipping tool' in the Start button > Search box, hit enter. Select the area you want to post and save to a convenient place.

Have you been checking your temperatures?

Use Core Temp , to check the CPU temps when at idle, under load and/or testing.
Let us know the minimum and maximum temps you get.

Go to your BIOS and tell us what the CPU, RAM and CPU integrated memory controller voltages are.
Your CPU memory controller voltage is called 'CPU NB VID Control' in the 'System Voltage Control' section of the BIOS.

You have mentioned that you ran Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool, it not a good memory testing app.

Download and run Memtest86+, this is a very good memory tester.
First, run it with all your RAM installed, for at least 7 passes or overnight, if you get any errors you can stop the test.
Let us know the results, you will probably need a memory controller voltage bump, I would do this before running a more thorough memtest86+ test.

This tutorial explains how to run the test when looking for bad RAM cards or bad motherboard slots.

Here are the CPU-Z pics. temps are great:
-Monitored all temps via CPUID's HW monitor. all temps look really nice and low even during stress tests.

Ill run memory tests later. right now im really concerned with my corrupted data. trying to recover it. i know its another problem for another tread but here is what i have done:

Some of the codes i got:

Inserting an index entry into index $0 of file 25 (crazy amounts of these espcially on S:)
deleting index entry ______________ (many differnt things written after that. way too many to write)

in stage 2 0f 3 on P partition: an unexpected error occurred (696e647863686b2e 12d8) or (696e647863686be e0b) and a few others. if need be i can type some more after i run more failed CHKDSK's.

deleting corupt attribute record (128, "") or (160, $I30) etc...

correcting error in index $0 for file 25

I mean it did alot of things i wasnt sure what it was doing.

I have ran some free recovery programs such as "pandora recovery" and "recover files" from cnet, to try to recover deleted files but it either wasn't there in those programs or the ones that were said they had been overwritten and would be corrupt anyways. i tryed to get a few wav files back from my recordings but they didnt play in winamp :(

i tried reinstalling some drivers. that didnt do anythng.

I tryied taking out one of the HDD's and putting it in my other computer running XP. when i used it with just SATA cables it didnt work at all. said it "failed to initialize the disk. press (g) to continue" or something of that nature. and windows didnt see it at all. but if i used an IDE to SATA adapter it would reconize it, said it was running properly, when viewing it in disk manager it said it was Healthy and all one large partition (even though there is 2 partitions on it) as DISK 0 Basic online (GPT protective Partition) but had no drive letter nore anything under file system. its color was blue (primary partition). right clicking only allowed "properties".

windows runs great but my RAID is messed up any chance of recovery? or should i just reformat the RAID drives and lose what i had? all i want is my recordings back.

Looks like you have tried the right things to recover your data.
Post a thread in the Hardware & Devices forum, tell them what happened, what you have done to recover and what files you want to recover.
Try this before reformatting the RAID 1 setup.
Hopefully you can get some help.

The temps are good.

You will need to go to your BIOS for the RAM and CPU integrated memory controller voltages.

Go to BIOS > 'MB Intelligent Tweaker(M.I.T.)' > 'System Voltage Control' set this to Manual > DRAM Voltage control,
If all you can see is 'AUTO' then select it and you should see a list of the options, one of them should be selected.

Your CPU memory controller voltage is called 'CPU NB VID Control' in the 'System Voltage Control' section of the BIOS.
If you have done the above settings ('System Voltage Control' set this to Manual) then select 'CPU NB VID Control'.
If all you can see is 'AUTO' then select it and you should see a list of the options, one of them should be selected.
If you can't see any selected then select 1.200v.
'Save and Exit' before leaving the BIOS.

The 'CPU NB VID Control' will likely need to be bumped to a higher voltage than 1.200v, but it is best to raise this slowly in order to get the lowest voltage setting that runs stable.

Let us know the memtest86+ results.

WOOT! got my files back. I had to unplug one of the hard drives in the RAID and CHKDSK recovered all my files! o man time to celebrate. then back to the BSOD.

btw i tried disabling RAID in bios and that didnt work. i had to physically disconnect one of the hard drives.

Well after i lost nearly all my storage from my RAID falling apart, I recovered my data and decided to reformat and create a RAID 0 this time with my two 2tb hard drives. the system is running A LOT better. no hickups like before and no crashes for a month... until today.

after i installed sony vegas 10.0 X64 today, i was making a video and selected "selectivly prerender video" which i believe loads and renders the project into RAM and got a BSOD mid way through the rendering.

the BSOD created a dump and then rebooted the computer before i could write down the code or take a picture of it. anyways here's the dump info attached:

after i reformatted i didn't get a BSOD but one when i was rendering to memory in video editing. so i ran memtest86+ and got errors at %33-%37.

I tested each stick in slot one and got errors with all of my ram sticks in slot one at around %34

I tested a stick in slot one and slot 3 and got errors just the same in both

I brought my ram to my friends house and got 0 errors. ram sticks seem to be fine.

could i really have 2 bad slots on my motherboard? could this just be a settings issue (timing/voltage?). should i warranty my motherboard or buy a different one?
