Your processor is x64 capable.

Also if you're already running 32 Windows 7, it should tell you if your processor supports 64 bit from Control Panel -System and/or View and Print details of the W.E.I assessment.

Most x86 programs will work under x64 architecture.

No.

Very few 64 bit programs exist yet. (One example: Adobe Photoshop CS4 includes both 32 and 64 bit versions.) Most 32 bit programs run without difficulty. Search the Web for WoW64.

What you'd lose would be the ability to run 16 bit programs.

If you have less than 4GB of RAM, swapping to 64-bit will slow down your PC.
