64Bit 7 not using all 4GB of ram

You can fiddle and putz around till the cows come home ... its not going to change anything, and you may bork your system fiddling around with settings that you know nothing about.. Im not trying to get down on ya, but you are walking around on thin ice doing this... enjoy your system...

Not to sound big headed but i have had loads of expirence using msconfig and using cmputers so of course i know what im doing i can do pretty much anything on a pc just this 1 problem with the ram is bugging me that it cant use all 4 yet i payed for 4GB

Just like people have been telling you since the beggining of post its your mobo, Before you posted did you even bother to check the specs of your mobo? it is

proves you must not know to much because looking at your hardware specs would of been the first place to look

Well if you could read you would note that i was the first to say it was my motherboard so maybe next time you will read whole thread.

as for every 1 else with good decent answers thanks for the help and i am just going reinstall it and see how it goes.

Your whole question about it only using 4gb of ram, Your mobo has a make of 4gb of ram cap, It reads your gc as 1 gb leaving you 3gb able to use, what is hard to understand about that?

No im saying it can take 4GB which it has got but it is only using 3GB whats so hard for to understand about that its been made clear in the post.

He's trying to tell you that your graphics card is "stealing" the memory being reported. And that's why. I'm not completely sure myself if it's true or not. But that's what he's telling you.

its so simple. i experienced this thing before, and only way back to 4gb ram usage is format pc. I had double boot xp32 and win7 on my pc before , and after xp32 i installed win7 beta and it show up 3gb ram usage max. this is the only reason...

Windows 7 64bit, Asus A8n32sli-deluxe find that thread on general discussion. I had the same problem. Enabled the memory hole? I think. It's a bios setting read the thread it's there.

I've got Win7-64bit installed on a Gigabyte EP45-UD3P with a Q9550 and 4GB or memory.

Win7 shows that only 3GB is usable... how do I fix this problem? Vista64 used all 4GB of memory with exactly the same hardware!

Look into your mainboard's BIOS, see if you can completely disable the integrated intel graphic chip.
If you can't disable it, at least configure it to use as minimum memory as possible.

See how it goes...
