Windows 7 does that without the k-lite codecs that were designed for Windows XP. By using those codecs you are bypassing many of the improvements made to Windows Media technology since XP including DirectX Video Acceleration HD DXVA-HD (Windows) and the Enhanced Video Renderer Media Foundation - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Thats quite informative, i uninstalled klite and try to play a common video file extension on my pc and it still works and, does the acceleration stuff work for all videos? or for wma extension only(have seen the setting for this).

KMPlayer works fine here in Windows 7 64bit. I still have to see a file that can play in other players and that KMPlayer don't.

Acceleration works based on the video codec rudiments required. Most video cards support hardware acceleration of MPEG-4 part 2 ASP and derivatives like Divx and Xvid as well as h.264 HiDef content. So the short answer is "no", it works with much more than WMA files.

But it works no better than it would in XP as it cannot take advantage of the OS advancements made since then.

That might be true, but I don't miss any "OS advancements". What should it be?
I have full surround sound and fullHD playback seamless as it is.

Look at your system specs. You might be a snob. Well I might be too. Not everyone is so well off these days. The idea, when media foundation was made was to counter set-tops. In doing that Microsoft made "Major Miracle" -- a computer that you might consider "crap" can run 1080p -- consider an Atom powered netbook. 7 can't fix that with Intel's hamstring but look at the Ions -- 7 on an Atom with an Ion can play HD.

Now you have a God box. But consumer equipment plays almost as well for these purposes? I say, let them eat cake.

That does not change the facts, that I don't miss any OS advancements, and that I still can use KMPlayer without any troubble. Why should I use another player, when my PC don't have a problem with the current one? People with an Atom Netbook that want's to see 1080p might want to get or buy a player that can help them, but I still don't see, why I can't be happy for KMPlayer.

What I said was... ;-) I can't recommend it for some reasons I CAN tell -- I'm a contract programmer. Libs used could be included. I like what Xil has done with it. I just works. I'm, proud.
