7600 RTM and FINAL versions!

Hey guys. I´m brazilian and dont speak english very well. Sorry for my bad english. But i want to know, i have installed on my PC the 7600 version compilation. When I update the O.S whit WINDOWS UPTADE, this version became the FINAL version or I have to install the FINAL version??? Is these version differents or they are the same version??? Thank you!

Well the RTM that was released months ago is the same as the final. So if ur running the rtm than your fine

How can I see the version of my compilation??? I know it is 7600...but wich one???? There are many many 7600 versions! How can I know this information on Windows 7 ???

What you have is the one and only final. If something else came out It easnt from microsoft. When MS votes to make a release final they dont make any, repeat any changes to it.
I would be more concerned with the legitimacy of the release than any possible minute changes.

One is the Europe (N) release is it not? That comes without IE, WMP etc etc.

The N version distributed on October 22 is the version without Windows Media Player (and perhaps without IE as well) that I believe gets sold some places in Europe and Korea.

The only difference is that those items are removed from the start. That's why there's a different hash. It's a different version.

The main thing is to ensure whatever you have came from a legitimate source. As long as it did, you don't need anything new. If you have the prior RTM, you can simply turn off IE and Media Player if you want. You don't have to download and install the N version to have those removed from the start of the installation.

Diego, you and everyone else have to understand - there is only one release. Only one.

It has been distributed in several waves and several versions.

The RTM was finished and locked on July 22.

It has been distributed in several (official) waves - on different dates and each time to a larger group of people. I received mine on August 6th. It was released to everyone (or anyone who can afford it) on October 22nd.

It has been distributed in several versions - ranging from Starter to Ultimate (with different feature sets) and in N, K, KN etc. versions, without the Media Player and its framework.

With all these versions and differences - it is still the same release and it will not change until a Service Pack is released. Certainly not this year.
