8GB Flash Drive Suggestions?

Hey guys, yours truly again.

Recently as some of you know, my kitten (Halo) knocked over my Xbox 360 (3' drop) with my 4GB flash drive in the front of it.

Xbox 360 is fine, but the flash drive is just about dead. Its LED is broken, I have to bend the rear of it up to get Windows to detect it (and continue holding it otherwise it thinks it disconnected.

Anyways, I'm looking for a new Flash Drive, preferably 8gb since I did run into some ISO's that wouldn't fit on the 4gb (Fedora DVD ISO, OSx86 ISO's, etc).

I'm currently looking at this, but want your feedback as well. The reviews on this one look good, but still will look at any other options.

One small thing, try to keep things below a total cost of $25.

Here is the one I have been using for 90 days. It's the fastest and best made I have seen personally. I love it. You can get it for about $40.

No, I have seen some bad reviews too. I have had mine for over a year and just love it. I have portable apps on it and all kinds of stuff. I have nothing but good to say about the Cruzer.

The LED is weird. It really does no good. Mine just fades in and out all the time. That may be a down side for some but I don't care. It' works fine.

That Kingston Hyper X is really good if you can afford it. Mine really a 16GB and it rules.

The Cruzer is nice though. There are so many out there. I have some PNY drives I love. They come with caps you can loose (although I have not lost mine in years)

The PNY ones are highly recommended by me. The LED on those really work good and they are pretty fast. I use those as boot drives for installing Windows.

You never mentioned anything about that...

I assumed that your only requirements were:

a new Flash Drive, preferably 8gb
want your feedback as well.
will look at any other options.
below a total cost of $25.

My personal specific NON-recommendation would be SanDisk:
I installed XP Pro on a 16 gigger, and it was the slowest dog of any USB-stick that I ever worked with.
By my nature, I am extremely patient concerning most things.
Running the OS on SanDisk was, in my words, EXCRUCIATING...
Took both sticks back to Costco for refund, paid $40 more, and grabbed a 1.5 tera USB HDD instead. (Exactly $109 U.S. plus tax)

Good luck with your choice.

I must admit the more I think about all my flash drives, the Sandisk Cruzer IS my LEAST favorite. I like the PNY drives and the Kingston (Hyper-X) they make crappy ones too))

Well (not being stinjy.. however its spelled), if I wanted Walmart search results I'd have looked myself.

I meant Kingston makes bad ones. haha but the Hyper-X is GREAT.

The Hyper-X is VERY nice.
The higher end PNY ones are very nice too.

I use to just buy whatever I saw. But now I've been starting to buy things after reading reviews, if it has many/few/no issues, etc. =P
