A "blue screen of death" (BSOD)

This happens daily now , but before windows was working for a couple of months fine... I attached the minidump file as asked.

Usually when i start up my laptop (hp pavilion dv6000) i see the dots trying to make the windows logo but it freezes and all i see is like the red dot in the middle of the screen. I tried to do startup fix but usually it just loads the windows files and just fails and its a black screen. When it starts up normally (like it is now) it shows a windows check for solution. And i do and it says event name Blue screen.

Please ask me for any more information on this horrific problem , and please and thankyou if you help

Just about to have dinner. Both your bug errors are code 124 read this. I will give more later. 124 is hard to diagnose. This will give you an idea of your problem until I return or another member elaborates further.

Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.

Do a CPU stress test as well, using Prime95.

Test your temps with Speedfan.

Update or remove Roxio:

No problem, you will notice I posted at the same time as you, and didn't see you were on the thread.

To grbnike. The mechanics of the forum do not allow one poster to see that another is working until the reply is submitted.

That being said, both Jon and I agree with the final analysis. I too would have suggested a memory and an overheating test.

Since I am checking the report with hind sight, it is easy to see that roxio is a possible suspect of your problem. A CPU test is always valuable.

I think that my analysis would differ only in that I would suggest an antivirus scan and a scan with malwarebytes. It is my feeling (opinion) that this should always be suggested, since the virus writers are getting more and more proficient at hiding the virus. Just to be sure, its free and worthwhile to do a scan.

I will end by saying that I (and I know Jon) wish you the best of luck in solving this problem.

i see , but how do i tell if it is running? doesn't show any percent menu or anything to show its working.

Don't know if its related to bsod but its just weird i don't got any usb or cd's inside my system.
But I am getting this problem i hear like the windows sound "don don dondon"

It looks like your system is burning up. Please clean out the dust, open the case and aim a fan inside.

Note to self: recommend memtest next. Also, Prime95 needs to be run for quite a while.

MY BSOD Magically went away it seems after 4 days . BUT in that time I had 4 & 16 Updates by Microsoft..

Soooo I can onlu assume that my Moment of angst is over... I Hopeaaaa Hope !!

Well Nar ain't the thread starter i am ~_~ , but my bsod have gone away completely , and my fix what putting a usb while starting my laptop , but sometimes i do get like in the bottom right like its like installer device (USb) and device failed to install even tough there is no usb in there (because i take the usb out when i'm on the my desktop cause it works fine. Btw i also have to keep my laptop lid closed when i click power (and have usb in it) and when i don't it just restarts without showing the HP logo but when i do close it it starts. (VERY WERID)

anyhelp or should i ignore it/
