A hard disk could not be found. I don't know what to do from here.

So, my computer (alienware Aurora r4) was completely frozen, no response from mouse, keyboard, nothing. I reset by holding down the power button. When I turned it back on, it beeped once, then recommended that I run startup repair. I tried to restore from a system image, and got error message "the system cannot find the file specified 0X80070002". It took me to system recovery options and I tried startup repair. It said "windows cannot repair this computer automatically." I clicked on "view diagnostic and repair details" and at the bottom it said "root cause found: a hard disk could not be found. If a hard disk is installed, it is not responding." When restarting, it will not allow me to select "start windows normally." I suspect the keyboard is not responding because it won't even let me select startup repair, it just automatically selects it when the time runs out. I also suspect that selecting "start windows normally" won't help me anyway since the computer can't find the hard drive.
I have no idea how to proceed from here. I know exactly Jack squat about hardware so I wouldn't know how to check if the hard drive is connected even if I did open it up. Please help.

You could try entering the bios on powerup and see if the HDD is still listed as present
You could also try your HDD manufacturers website and get a bootable HDD diagnostic program to check your drive, something like Western Digital Data Lifeguard for DOS

I can't go into the BIOS because the computer is not accepting keyboard input during startup.

Can you borrow another keyboard from your friend and check?
